In one of the most shocking pieces of news to come out of Hollywood in some time, a feature film based on the life of George Zimmerman is reportedly in the works with none other than Will Smith at the helm. Smithís Overbrook Entertainment (I Am Legend, Hancock, The Karate Kid) has jumped on-board to finance and produce the film which is scheduled to hit theaters Spring 2015.

As polarizing of a figure that Zimmerman is, the film is sure to spark controversy among movie goers. In a statement sent to reporters, Smith stated, ďItís obvious that heís not Americaís sweetheart right now but his story is intriguing and it needs to be heard. Hitler wasnít popular. Does that mean his story is any less interesting? Of course not. Slave masters arenít popular but 12 Years a Slave was phenomenal. Wait until you see the finished product and judge for yourself.Ē

George Zimmerman is slated to receive a shade under $3.2 million from Overbrook Entertainment for his role as a consultant. No further details have been given regarding the totality of Zimmermanís role with the production.

Jaden Smith is confirmed to be cast in the lead role of Trayvon Martin. Wilmer Valderrama is the front-runner to play the role of George Zimmerman. Production on the film set to begin in the Fall of 2014.
George Zimmerman to be played by a plump Michael Richards.

So Will Smith turns down the opportunity to play Neo in The Matrix and Django in Django Unchained, but he'll produce pieces of shit like After Earth and this certain-to-be-disaster. Not only that, but he encourages his kid to take the lead role. Must be nice having a cadre of ass kissers telling you your every move is golden.

Eh, solid isn't a word I'd use, but that's just me. It was ok, but it wasn't a movie I wanted to see again at the theaters, and it isn't one I watch if I catch it on one of the movie channels.

One thing I'll say is that this Trayvon Martin movie is WAY out of Will Smith's wheelhouse. This is not a project I'd associate him with, especially with the way he wouldn't play Django.

What is Will Smith thinking. Hes going to get vilified for this by his own race for Zimmerman profiting so much from this.

They should get Charlton Heston to play both parts. It would work.
