Eric Cantor is in trouble

This could be a little early, but the House Majority Leader appears to be going down.

He was expected to easily turn aside a tea party challenger, but Eric Cantor is now losing by a whopping 11 points in his primary with about 51% of precincts reporting.

Just to be clear, Eric Cantor is by no stretch of the imagination anywhere close to "moderate". He's got a fairly solid conservative voting record.

The only area where he's really differed is on immigration (probably due to demographic pragmatism and wanting the GOP to still be competitive in 10-20 years), and thats what got him tossed out.

I don't even have the TV on. Eric Cantor is obviously conservative, anyone who has been paying attention to politics knows that.

I don't even know what this "establishment" nonsense you are babbling about even means, it does not mean "moderate".

Apparently Cantor's opponent made illegal immigration and amnesty the centerpiece of his campaign. He should keep it up. It's a bipartisan issue.

I'm actually not as sure as I was a few months ago that Hillary will be nominated. The Dems are going to be heavily favored no matter who wins the nomination, but if Biden wants it, I think he may be able to get by her on electability.

According to Freedom Work's scorecard his record is 44% conservative on key House votes in 2014. So he's not even half conservative. That's not conservative. He may have had a better record in other years but I believe it's still a mix.

http://congress.freedomworks.org/keyvotes/house/2014

Now, scoring him with regard to the Constitution, true conservatism, I'll bet his score is even lower. Afterall, he's for school choice when he sits in the national congress who has no authority to be involved in that. It's a local issue. So he sounds Constitutionally weak. I'll have to check it though but on that issue he is weak.
