Eric Cantor is in trouble

This could be a little early, but the House Majority Leader appears to be going down.

He was expected to easily turn aside a tea party challenger, but Eric Cantor is now losing by a whopping 11 points in his primary with about 51% of precincts reporting.

Also, Scalia and Kennedy are old dudes, and it's really questionable whether they could make it 10+ more years. The Tea Party's real legacy may be insuring Hilliary/Biden/whomever fill their vacancies, thereby resulting in major changes to Citizens United, gun control, and a host of other legal issues.

Are you saying all the left needs is a different bunch of judges to rewrite the Constitution. Why don't you just get them a shredder?

This post says you think our Constitution is worthless. You need an amendment to change those things...especially in light of recent precedents which you just openly admitted needed to be re-written.

I agree, and I have been saying this for a while as well.

The tea party, the Ron Paul types, etc need to take a seat at the table with everyone else, not try to install a dictatorship over the party. But the minute anyone talks about compromise with other factions or trying to move through incremental change, they'd have them burned at the stake as a communist.

I don't think you and I are going to come to any kind of agreement on how laws (including the Constitution) should be interpreted.

This shows how massively ignorant you are about Ron Paul, how he worked in Congress and what he's actually said. I mean I know you despise the man, which blinds you to reality, but this is utter nonsense.

Ron Paul crossed the line by working with left on certain issues...even with someone as Progressive as Dennis Kucinich who supported Ron Paul on certain issues. Ron Paul talked about forming issue based coalitions where he could work with the left--unlike some other conservative types. Ya' know your kind who loves military interventions and demonization of the other.

Ron Paul was hated for this reason by your type. So YOU are completely WRONG. This post of yours is nothing but opinion when you use "the Ron Paul types." EPIC FAIL and OWNED!

I agree. But you're still too late to change those recent precedents.

Furthermore, the types that were elected to the last House were those who were further to the left on the D side, and these Tea Party types--considered "further to the right." That, there presented an opportunity for coalition-based politics per issue. It may be more polarized but it didn't have to be on every issue. Remember, the original Tea Party was co-opted by folks like Freedom Works. It's the Ron Paul types that can cross-over--not the other way around.

Nope.

You're acting like those on the right who think Roe v Wade can be changed just by putting new justices on the court.

You'd need a new but different case.

Nah, I understand the process. Someone challenges the constitutionality of an existing law (e.g. Edith Windsor/DOMA) and SCOTUS takes it up on appeal.

Not on cases already appealed up to the SC and decided.
