The country is ****ed

Between fat acceptance, the recent "feminism" fad, participation only sports, and the idiotic need to label every self identifying sexual based group out there, America is quickly going the way of the Romans.

We spend billions watching tv to partake in violence and beauty, and over indulge in food, liquor, and porn at every chance, all while evolving into a culture of pacifist who label anything that hurts our feelings as either racist, prejudice, or a hate crime.

The internet has allowed the sheep to gather in mass and propagate their uneducated opinions, and they gain validation through "thumbs up" icons. The danger of this is that the youth also read this bullshit on social media but accept it as the norm, and then follow suit.

We are lost.

The whole concept of a Christmas truce was and is a western/Christian way of war and tied to just war theory. In your example applied by both sides. We still apply just war theory in our arguments to act or not and then how we act both during combat and post combat. Doesn't apply to non western or non Christian folks. In simple terms, some people just need killing for the greater good. The manner in which they are killed matters as does the post killing policies. A discussion is whether or not this framework should/ is changing through UN or other international body leverages to act with force and the U.S. Role.

Nothing wrong with that.

No, it's pretty much the same. If you want a different version you have to go back a lot further than 30 years.

Yeah more like 45. Sometimes I forget it's 2014.

But suffice it to say the people who started the feminist movement didn't sign up for this shit.

There's a better argument that "Hook-up Culture" is more of a problem than feminism supposedly is.

Conversely, the modern depiction of men as either violent action/anti-heroes (and villains) or buffoonish, irresponsible, shittalking manchildren is a problem that isn't being addressed. When you couple it with the absolutely shit economy facing unprivileged 20-somethings or younger, no one should be shocked in 10 years when non-immigrant birth and marriage rates drop because boys have grown up in a world where fatherhood is something to be avoided at all costs.

And for those who want to be dads... well, good luck paying nearly a million dollars for a wife and child (in addition to whatever college debt one may have) when you're working an entry-level salary for consecutive years without a payraise.

"We have a really dangerous mission for you"

What is it?

"We are being threatened in some country you've never heard of?"

By whom?

"By our latest bogeyman, who he is isnt important right now"

Will I be shot at or see any combat?

"Duh."

Will I get good medical care if something does happen to me?

"Of course, have you heard of the VA system?"

Why should I die for someone I don't know across the globe from me?

"You'll be a hero for spreading Democracy. You will be remembered forever"

Do you remember even one single name of the 70,000 that died in Vietnam?

"Well.....um......"

Perhaps extreme feminists have that opinion, but not the mainstream.

Why do you give a damn about all this culture shit? You sound like one of those old religious social conservatives.

We should care about what the government makes us pay, what they are wasting our money on, and what laws are passed to restrict our freedoms.

We should not care about what other people eat, smoke, do, or say in their free time. Its their life, if it doesn't hurt me or take my money, I don't care.
