Skme good from the Wookies Forced Food program

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. – First Lady Michelle Obama’s healthy school lunch menu is finally getting some love from a group of young eaters.

Some 3,000 pigs at My Blue Heaven Farm in Rhode Island have been dining on students’ lunch leftovers from two nearby school systems, according to WoonsocketCall.com.

The pigs are enjoying “half-eaten tuna sandwiches and other food scraps students discard during their lunch periods” as part of a new recycling program established by the town of Cumberland, the news site reports.

The recycling program has been so successful that officials are planning to expand it in the fall.

The school food that’s being “repurposed” as pig feed is described as “nutritious,” and it certainly is.

I am sure that will come in time. Currently we spend over $200 billion in healthcare costs related to obesity and projected to spend over $500 billion in 10 more years. All you have to do is go to Walmart or in public place and sit and watch people and see all the obese people compared to those that aren't. It is probably a 10-1 ratio. If you don' think that is going to have an effect on our healthcare cost\system because more people are getting Diabetes, heart disease, strokes, cancer etc then we really don't need to proceed further.

10-1 ratio? Not sure wtf is going on down there in mid-Missouri but I don't see that anywhere, not even Walmart.

And yes, there's no question it's having an effect on our healthcare costs, and yes, I am in favor of addressing that but trying to dictate what everyone eats regardless of their physical condition is not a solution that I find acceptable.

Kids don't really care about what's good for them. They care about what tastes good. So yeah, if Pepsi and Pizza Rolls are available, and they have the option to also eat a healthy, hearty salad, you can guess which one they're going to order.

And no, I don't think kids are typically thinking to themselves "boy, if I keep playing video games, I'm not burning calories."

Kids will do what they want and in many cases don't know any better. The best you can do is at least get them used to the taste of healthy food, get them excited to try out good food (e.g. community gardens), and give them fun things to do that will help them burn calories. It's better than throwing your hands up in the air and throwing crappy food at them with the mindset that they'll eat that crap anyway.

Well, if you are not in the program, you generally don't receive the things you would receive if you were, you know...in the program. It's really not a complicated situation.

I don't get anything from The Fruit of the Month Club, but then The Fruit of the Month Club doesn't threaten legal action and imprisonment if I don't pay them anyway.

One more thing that isn't complicated is understanding Mother Superior has no problem with a kid being hungry if they don't eat what she wants them to.

And the ONLY reason you seem to care, or a need to meddle in other people's eating habits, is that the costs harm commie care.

The govt helped cause the obesity problem due to official government policy of promoting a low-fat diet.

In the 1970s the McGovern Committee’s Report put Americans on a path to obesity and disease because of political pandering by folks who think like you. The results— were farm subsidies supporting the wrong diet and obesity based on junk science.

Yet you want even more govt involvement and more forcible extraction from the taxpayer's hard-earned money.Tell them to knock of the garbage in this video:

That does start with the parents/family and how they eat, at a very early age.
They have to be taught—including by example.
