Skme good from the Wookies Forced Food program

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. – First Lady Michelle Obama’s healthy school lunch menu is finally getting some love from a group of young eaters.

Some 3,000 pigs at My Blue Heaven Farm in Rhode Island have been dining on students’ lunch leftovers from two nearby school systems, according to WoonsocketCall.com.

The pigs are enjoying “half-eaten tuna sandwiches and other food scraps students discard during their lunch periods” as part of a new recycling program established by the town of Cumberland, the news site reports.

The recycling program has been so successful that officials are planning to expand it in the fall.

The school food that’s being “repurposed” as pig feed is described as “nutritious,” and it certainly is.

Burgers are not bad for you. In fact it's a good hi protein meal. It's a matter of the meat's quality and how it's cooked. Same with pizza and chicken nuggets. Those can all be made healthier.Add a little flax meal by making a home-made crust for those who only eat white flour and oven-bake the nuggets and don't add sugar to them.

This is another case of the Democrat party trying to parent everyone's children the way they see fit.
How the **** are they trying to parent anyone? Seriously explain that. They're taking school food that was already provided and making it healthier. How the **** is that "parenting"?

If you as a parent want to give them shit food at home, they're not stopping you.

MO is one of the fattest states in America. I don't really want to dictate what adults eat but we should have some reasonable standards for kids. I don't have a solution to it other than give people healthy choices.

Also I was curious what private schools do and I see that they are offer very healthy choices for their kids. So rich kids like healthy food options but poor ones don't?

The Pembroke Hill School has worked with Flik Independent School Dining for the past five years, and is committed to serving healthy and seasonal offerings at the school.

Flik offers daily, freshly-made items such as homemade soups, an extensive and varied salad bar with an assortment of low-fat homemade dressings, a variety of different fruits and vegetables, low-fat milk options, vegan and vegetarian foods, “choice” grade meat or higher, and a deli station to make sandwiches. In addition to these items, Flik also serves a variety of different hot menu items ranging from homemade pizza and caesar salad to honey chicken and vegetable stir-fry.

Flik also serves minimal desserts on both the Wornall and Ward Parkway campuses, and serves fried food only twice per month. Sorbet and frozen yogurt are offered on the Ward Parkway campus. When possible, Flik integrates ethnic, cultural and religious foods into daily offerings.

For kindergartners or first graders who are less adventurous in their food choices, we offer some daily standard options.

Foods appealing to the less adventurous eater:
Monday - Peanut Butter Sandwich
Tuesday - Turkey and Cheese Wrap
Wednesday - Cheese Sandwich
Thursday - Chicken and Cheese Quesadilla
Friday- Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

I would say school lunches are a very small part of the reason.

Right and the hamburger and corn they were eating wasn't really making them obese. You hear some of this stuff and you'd think kids were eating Lil Debbies as their main course.
They still basically get what they got for their main course except maybe smaller portions and they're forced to put some vegetable on their plate which they generally throw away.
