Skme good from the Wookies Forced Food program

NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. – First Lady Michelle Obama’s healthy school lunch menu is finally getting some love from a group of young eaters.

Some 3,000 pigs at My Blue Heaven Farm in Rhode Island have been dining on students’ lunch leftovers from two nearby school systems, according to WoonsocketCall.com.

The pigs are enjoying “half-eaten tuna sandwiches and other food scraps students discard during their lunch periods” as part of a new recycling program established by the town of Cumberland, the news site reports.

The recycling program has been so successful that officials are planning to expand it in the fall.

The school food that’s being “repurposed” as pig feed is described as “nutritious,” and it certainly is.

well i think it says something for how far bush dropped the economy. from what i see, obama is supportive of changing things, as promised.

minimum wages are going up.

things are getting legalized that should be.

he seems more like a people's president than bush ever was. all he did was cater to the war humpers and stocked up on beggin' bites for the hungriest ones at his speeches.

I do too despite not having home ec. But it took years of dedication to learn it. Many people my age don't have that motivation. Many can't even make a plate of spaghetti. Cooking shouldn't be a hobby. It should be a critical life skill and the more people that are taught the basics, the better.

If you think one man is capable of that kind of power then I have a bridge to sell you.

Clue: It took more than Bush.

Quote:

Yeah, toward communism aka redistribution. You got that part right!

BUT he LIED —a LOT more:

He lied that Obamacare was not a tax, then had his attorneys defend it to the SC that it was a tax; that we'd be able to keep our own doctor but many lost their doctor; that we'd save $2500 when our premiums got jacked up instead; that civil liberties would be restored but then assassinated an American citizen using a drone; was against undeclared war by congress, instead he bombed Libya, said getting congresses approval was not necessary; was pro-separation of powers when he criticized Bush for that violation but violates it monthly; is lying about an economic recovery....need I go on. He lied all during his campaign.

Quote:
minimum wages are going up.
That did not pass at the national govt level to my knowledge yet. That's happened in some states.

This however, is not change, since it goes up regularly including under Republican presidents.

Quote:
things are getting legalized that should be.
Things? That says nothing—vague and general.

He was against gay marriage and legalized pot but where those have become legal has not been done by Obama. Again, that is happening state by state. Has ZERO to do with Obama. Obama, if anything, has changed his positions on those things after those things were legalized elsewhere.

Seems like you're not very informed about civics or what form of govt we have to know what things get done at the state level and have nothing to do with a president.

Quote:

Only if you like socialism/communism.

Not when I hear people on the left calling him a corporatist.

Most people hate him. I've met few that like him and I travel for work.

Obama's poll numbers suck. Just because people didn't Bush, doesn't mean they like Obama. That's why he drew in a Republican House of Representatives who do hold the power of the purse. Because of this, the Constitutional scholar is violating his oath of office by using his phone and his pen which is illegal in our system. Only you seem to even know that.

Quote:

That's why Obama is beefing up military on Russia's borders, bombed Libya, wanted to be involved in the war in Syria and is for air support to Iraq and said the military option was not off the table regarding Iraq.

Seriously, reading your post is like the blind leading the blind under Obama.

Sorry Obama is Bush II on steroids give or take a few things. Bush lied that he's have a humble foreign policy and his Cheney and crew lied about WMD in Iraq. That's all I can think of. That makes Obama the bigger liar and compared to other presidents perhaps the biggest of all. Most commies, and often dictators lie their way into power presenting a different face then they consolidate power. That's Obama--a wannabe dictator.

And you like it.

I thought a lot of people my age were introduced to better food in college, like myself. Even though there's still a lot of junk eaten at the same time. Ya' know because of all the natural food or organic stores near colleges. That's when it started for me...at least the whole grains. Many women though diet, and they learn about food that way too. I remember my own kid at age thirteen telling me mayo had 100 calories in a tablespoon. So please don't use it anymore. I remember discovering that on my own at age 14 began avoiding it. Plus the teen magazines and other fashion mags cover nutrition, health and how to stay trim. I had an older sister who worked in the nutrition area of a hospital for her part-time job and she always brought home these brochures and things to read. I used to avidly read them.

For many kids, the school lunch program is the only decent meal they get every day. I feel bad for them if all they are getting now are fruits and vegetables

Who asked the Wookie to get involved? Typical Progressive. They know best and you will comply. Good to teach compliance in grade schools. The Government knows best.

Side salads were always offered but it was 4 or 5 piece of lettuce, not always the best looking, and smothered in ranch dressing.

In middle school and high school, we had the same school lunches and then an a la carte area filled with pizza, french fries, nachos, chicken fingers and all sorts of junk food. I think I ate cheese fries every day for about 3 months in middle school.

Nobody will convince me that offering only healthy food that is actually healthy is a bad thing, and no I'm not counting pizza sauce as a vegetable either. If the only food they are offered at home is junk, then the schools should have even more incentive to offer only healthy food to the kids. Let them eat it and discover on their own away from their parents that just because it's healthy, it doesn't mean it's bad.
