He left out:

Food such as meat, fish and poultry prices are at all time highs
Gas has set a record for number of days above $3 a gallon
Electricity prices are reaching or have reached record highs

It's a good think those 401k plans are going up...when people retire they might be able to afford their electric bill.....

The irony here is that in the not too distant past, the stock market only benefited the 1%'ers and we heard all about income inequality and what not.

Now suddenly it's all a good thing and let's pretend none of that other stuff got said

Well, remember: only 1/2 even have one to begin with, and the other half has a median value of $30,000. At an assumed rate of 5%, that pays $1,500/year interest. Or $125/month.

That's not enough to pay your electric bill after all.

You can say that again. I went grocery shopping with my wife yesterday for the first time in many years and I was BLOWN away by the cost of food.

I couldn't find a package of bacon for less than 5 dollars. Steaks are out of the question, unless they're almost outdated and on sale. It just goes on and on.

Dumb.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that all of those things also hit record highs during the W Bush years, the Clinton years, the Reagan years, etc.
