When will the stock market crash again?

Most every stock worth something is either at its all time high or getting close.

Today was a minor 1 % correction on fears of a bank in Portugal crashing. If that is making investors jittery - stories of the old buzzard Carl Icahn -who loves to pick the bones of corporate carcasses- warning that the market is over valued- won't help much.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/exclus...200312212.html

Even some are already predicting (hoping) for a major market crash- most likely to discount shop after most investors are fleeced of their 401k's again.

So when will it happen?

High five bro! Of course you do know we could solve this problem tomorrow if we wanted to. Just remove federal guarantees off these loans and let the free market dictate the cost of product. Then, reduce direct state subsidies to colleges. Voila, college tuition will fall massively. Your liberal eggheads setting up their rent- seeking "armies of the worthless" wont like it. But you care about the kids.....right?

When rates do increase, you will have capital losses due to the decrease in market value of your bonds. Since coupons (the stated interest rate on the bond) are at lows, it takes even longer for the interest income to make up the market value loss.

An international bond fund that can invest in emerging market debt (or an international that can't paired with an emerging market debt fund) wouldn't be a terrible idea though as those managers can take advantage of higher interest rates across the globe.

This will probably be one of the last buys I make-I still have a long list of stocks and ETF's I am investing in that are paying 5 times bonds right now. The last one I bought Linnco pays .24 cents a share per month- that is being reinvested. It has went up about 5% since I bought them as well.

They might end up doing just that.

It has been a blood bath the last 2 days-the market is getting hammered. This is why I like dividend paying stocks- it helps with these crazy highs and lows. I guess it is time to invest?

There will be some opportunities on high quality and good dividend stocks if you are not in the market now. This won't be a prolonged event

Looking at UGI- they own a major stake in Amerigas. Doing a 3/2 stock split and have increased their div payment.

Will prob. buy Amerigas-with its .88 div- but can't do both by the ex div dates.

Ferrelgas is the only stock that has done well the last month and even that one is down lately.
