So what do you guys think of Brownback?

I guess 100 Republican officials endorsed the Democratic gubernatorial nominee for Kansas.

Brownback decided to significantly cut income taxes for the rich, and - surprise! - that didn't result in an increase of tax revenues. Kansas' credit rating has been cut and it's used up a large percentage of it's rainy day fund.

Thoughts? Love him? Sick of him yet?

I thought the rains in June would get the corn to tassel and the milo to boot. I was wrong. Very wrong. Depending on the profile at planting, it ranges from decent to dead. Irrigated corn looks decent at the moment.

We have some chances for rain next week with a cool down. I'm ready. Although I worry about the milo catching enough growing degrees since we had to wait 3 weeks to plant it because it was too ****ing dry.

This is the Republicans' chance to win back the White House. You don't do that with a guy who thinks that it's 1870.

Interesting article from a pro-conservative site. I wonder if HuffPost will ever entire outside their liberal bubble and do likewise

I've always considered Brownback to be a simpleton who is too hell bent on cutting taxes. Single issue candidates are never effective leaders. In some ways Brownback reminds me of Phill Kline, the guy who thought that eliminating abortion was the only issue that an Attorney General should ever care about, and that he should be relentless about it.

Cutting taxes sounds great in theory. It really does. I know I sure as hell would like to have my taxes cut. But if your solution to every economic problem is to always cut taxes, all the time, then you are a simpleton.

Brownback's tax cuts are obviously failing in Kansas. I know I plan to vote for Paul Davis in the next gubernatorial election. I suspect that everyone will do that except for the die-hard right-wing lifelong Republicans who ALWAYS vote Republican.

Brownback is a disaster. I used to think that nobody could ever be as bad a governor as that stupid bitch Joan Finney was back in the early 1990s. But Brownback is right up there with her. She was a Democrat, he is a Republican. Neither party has a monopoly on stupid.

Tax cuts are definitely good for business development. But it's not the only factor when a business determins where to go. There isn't much for labor. At least around here. Maybe there is more around Wichita and back east, but labor, lack of water in some places, high property tax in others, and a general aversion to expansion so as to retain capital all lends itself to not expanding business in Kansas.

The other thing we need to remember is that it takes time for this to work. FFS, he cut taxes on income from business activity for one ****ing year. The world doesn't change overnight. Come on. It's been 1 damn tax cycle and the whole state is ready to throw in the towel.

Whether or not the state can stay solvent is the real question. If it can, tax cuts are tremendous.

Nor does Kansas more than MO. The parade of nitwits in State Legislatures is pretty consistent. The good news they are stupid but relatively honest. Unlike Illinois where every one of the ****ers should be convicted and in the can.

Why you bagging on California. They might be broke, but they're one of few states who don't get federal money to subsidize their budget.
