How would you ever prove that? There are no cameras in the car. The witnesses are all sympathetic to the suspect.

Conversely, how are you going to prove beyond any doubt in the mind of a reasonable person what happened in the car?

The only factor that separates this from Trayvon is 9 shots versus 1, but that's a big difference.

In a very weird revenue enhancer, the city required that people buy stickers for their cars and put them on the windshield. It was dumb, but you had to do it, and they were all due on a particular random day (call it July 1st for this story, but I don't remember the day).

The police would drive through the apartment parking lots early in the morning of July 1st - we're talking 3 am early - and give tickets to everyone who didn't yet have the sticker. Aside from the economic discrimination of disparate enforcement against younger renters, it was a pretty classless thing to do.

So it's my first year there and I didn't know about the stickers, and I get a ticket. So I grumble about and then go pay the $xx for the fine and then pay the $xx for the sticker, and put it on my car.

Then a couple of nights later, I get a second ticket. The police had come by again and apparently I didn't have the sticker in the proper spot on my car, so they gave me another fine.

I generally think that police are in a tough situation dealing with the public, and I tend to sympathize with them. But in the case of Ferguson, I'm going to stand back and watch the fight with detached amusement. They're jerks there.
That's NOTHING compared to the Pine Lawn, Vinita Park speed traps

Wouldn't it be interesting if the officer turned out to be non-white, or "white hispanic"?

The burden of proof wouldn't fall on the officer. So how, as a prosecutor, would you prove what the cop said was a lie?

And this is nothing like Trayvon. Nothing. Well, I take that back. The only similarity to Trayvon is the actions like last night. Trayvon didn't attack an officer like this guy did (allegedly). He attacked a police officer and allegedly went for his gun.

The officer has every right and duty to protect himself in that situation.

Also, there is likely audio from the officer's mic that indicates a struggle and probably radio traffic as well. It's not that hard. The FBI got involved solely to appease that community, but I'm assuming they will close this case very quickly.

Absent some other factual revelation, this is my best guess as well.

I would have assumed that every police car had cameras these days, particularly in large metro areas. That's kind of surprising.

I'm sure that agency does, but they are likely cameras that face outside the vehicle and to the front. Some agencies show that along with a view of the back seat of the car.

Another reason why every cop should be equipped with a camera that should be on at all times.

I think the police's story has some Trayvon similarities. One party started the confrontation by assaulting the other one, and then was shot and killed in supposed self defense.

In that case, there were no witnesses to what happened and no evidence that could make any serious refutation of Zimmerman's story. In this case we may have witnesses. We'll see how it pans out.

Why do these douchebags have to get involved with every little thing that they think signifies an important enough social issue to hack people's personal information?
