Robin Williams killed Himself because of his Leftist World View - Rush Limbaugh

Master Troll or Grandmaster Troll?

Quote:
Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh argued Tuesday that Robin Williams committed suicide because of his “leftist world view.”
“What is the left’s world view in general?” Mr. Limbaugh asked listeners. “If you had to attach, not a philosophy, but an attitude to a leftist world view. It’s one of pessimism, and darkness, sadness. They’re never happy, are they?”

“[Liberals] are animated in large part by the false promises of America, because the promises of America are not for everyone,” he said. “He had it all, but he had nothing. Made everybody else laugh, but was miserable inside. It fits a certain picture or a certain image that the left has. [I’m] talking about low expectations and general unhappiness.”
Fox News reported Mr. Williams suffered from “survivor’s guilt” after the deaths of Christopher Reeve, Andy Kaufman and John Belushi.
“Robin Williams felt guilty that he was still alive while his three friends had died young, and much earlier than he had,” Mr. Limbaugh said. “He could never get over the guilt that they died and he didn’t. Well, that is a constant measurement that is made by political leftists in judging the country.”
Slate reported Tuesday that Mr. Williams’ political ideology “was always liberal, in the general sense that Hollywood is liberal.”
Over the years the Oscar-winning actor donated tens of thousands of dollars to Democratic candidates, including Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer and Al Franken.

I think it has a lot more to do with those divorces. This is a good quote by Robin “Divorce is expensive. I used to joke they were going to call it ‘all the money,’ but they changed it to ‘alimony.’ It’s ripping your heart out through your wallet. Are things good with my exes? Yes. But do I need that lifestyle? No.”

That said I don't listen to Rush much but have hung out with him at a wedding and he is a pretty fun guy to hang out with. Like most people who are all right or all left I am not really interested in their rhetoric.

unless their rhetoric is against gay adoption and anti-vaccination.

Geez that quote is a bunch of garbage. It's like a Prison Bitch post. Just say something and proclaim it to be correct no matter how full of shit it is.

Turn on Rush's show (or any of the frothing right-wingers) at any random time and you will hear bitching about something. How so-and-so is ruining the country. How things weren't as they used to be. How the courts, media, and at least half the population is out to destroy the other side. I don't know how they even pull themselves out of bed to face the day.

You really really really need to redefine how you look at yourself. If you continue down the path of defining yourself as somewhat of an "intellectual" your life is going to be one miserable disappointment after another. You can't mask your stupidity by surrounding yourself with JuCo morons forever. Seriously, get a hobby or something... but your pathetic attempts at intelligent discourse are simply painful to watch.

As to Rush, I certainly have no reason to defend him other than in the interest of accuracy. I find him to be full of shit most of the time and far too bombastic.

In this instance, what your slow-kid brain is failing to grasp is that he is attacking the left, certainly, but no where does he make the leap to say that that is what caused Robin Williams to commit suicide. He is attacking the left in the context of the media coverage of the suicide. Let's say it one more time so maybe your pea brain will grasp it. He is speaking to the MEDIA COVERAGE. You conveniently left out that portion of the quote. I am guessing it's because you are just piss ignorant not that you did so on purpose and had the intention of being misleading. Your choice. You're either a liar or stupid.

Here is the quote with the portions you left out.

Quote:
So our last caller from Des Plaines, Illinois, wanted to know, "What is the politics in the coverage of the suicide of Robin Williams?" Well, I believe there is some. But I don't think that the politics is driving it. I think there was, on the part of media and Hollywood, genuine affection for the guy that is driving it, but there is politics. If you notice the coverage is focused on how much he had, but it wasn't enough.

"He had everything, everything that you would think would make you happy. But it didn't." Now, what is the left's worldview in general? What is it? If you had to attach not a philosophy but an attitude to a leftist worldview, it's one of pessimism and darkness, sadness. They're never happy, are they? They're always angry about something. No matter what they get, they're always angry.

They are animated in large part by the false promises of America, because the promises of America are not for everyone, as we see each and every day.
I mean, right here there's a story on the Fox News website. Do you know, it says right here, that the real reasons that Robin Williams killed himself are he was embarrassed at having to take television roles after a sterling movie career.
If you look, the black text sets up what will be discussed... the politics involved in the media coverage. The BLUE text is where Rush attacks liberals and how they look at the world and how it is reflected in their coverage. The RED is his counterpoint showing that Fox instead focused on a different angle for why he killed himself. (Although I don't really see that as a valid counterpoint at all, it's pretty clear Rush does)

Well, if Robin was depressed due to money problems it does suggest he overspent. Liberal means being a generous spender or giver.
It's not like he has a Federal Reserve to print up some money for him like the criminals in our Federal govt. So it is, in a way, liberal spending habits. He probably had lazy-ass progressive ex-wives.

Not that I think Rush should have said anything so soon after the man's death.

Holy crap dude, you put a lot of work into this, and they'll never read it. Good on you.

The other thing to remember is you have to listen to him (or anyone, for that matter) to get the voice inflection, the sarcasm, or whatever, to truly understand what is being said. AND, it's part of a 15 minute or so monologue. Just taking one paragraph out of context is incredibly intellectually dishonest. But, what else can you expect I guess.

Nice job.
