Per 810: Peter King says Clark Hunt could be on Short List to Replace Goodell

He is the one current guy in the "House of Goodell" that would be palatable to all NFL owners as a new commissioner. Said Clark probably wouldn't want it. But we know how loyal Clark is to the league. (Legal ownership of Chiefs might need reshuffling within the Hunt family.) Interesting, but pure speculation at this point. I don't see it happening, but it's a bye week....

talk among yourselves...

In the old AFL seems I remember Al Davis as Commissioner of the league and owner of the Faid.

Remember how good the 49ers were under Eddie DeBartolo and how well they've done since he handed the team over to his family? That went well.

If Goodell is getting replaced, the most important job for the new commissioner will be to clean up the NFL's many PR dumpster fires (i.e. protracted player disciplinary cases, National Anthem issue, concussion issue, etc.).

Considering how media adverse Clark is, I don't see him being a strong fit for that role.

Jerruh and Krafts reasons are purely selfish no doubt, but they are right that Goodell needs to go... count me among those hoping that their little cabals coup attempt is successful

Don't understand why the NFL continues to let Goodell host the NFL draft. Having your commissioner get booed was a novelty at first. Now it's just bad optics. They should have a popular celebrity and/or popular ex-players/coaches come in and do it. If you're going to make your draft a spectacle, why not milk it for all the good PR you can get?

Barely know the man, but he doesn't seem like the type who would even want the job.

No way Hunt would put himself in a position to be boo'd at the draft.

I remember reading that Condi Rice's dream job would be the Commissioner of the NFL.

Funny thing is, Goodell does exactly what the owner want him to do. They wanted him to have full power and now Jerry is pissed about it because his scumbag player got suspended. Kraft was angry when his cheater and liar QB got suspended. They gave him this authority but now some of them can't handle it. Roger takes all the bullets for owners and they are going to get rid of him? Why? What would change if they did? Players get away with crimes? Not held accountable? Is that better? No.
