Per 810: Peter King says Clark Hunt could be on Short List to Replace Goodell

He is the one current guy in the "House of Goodell" that would be palatable to all NFL owners as a new commissioner. Said Clark probably wouldn't want it. But we know how loyal Clark is to the league. (Legal ownership of Chiefs might need reshuffling within the Hunt family.) Interesting, but pure speculation at this point. I don't see it happening, but it's a bye week....

On the surface I hate it. It undermines credibility. That said, who wouldn't want Hunt running the show to kick off the Mahomes era?

Very tough bag o' biscuits right there.

I don't want the NFL to start a war with the NHL under false pretenses and end up playing football in an ice rink for 14+ years!

I have changed my point of view on this one.

We have all had, at times, an issue with how Clark and the Hunt's run the franchise. This could be a PERFECT opportunity to get a non-Hunt for CEO of this franchise. There has GOT TO BE a wealthy, retired, business man out there with a stellar pedigree and FAR MORE PASSION for the Kansas City Chiefs than that of the Hunt family.
You KNOW it to be true.
It's just a matter of finding that individual.

You are totally spot on !! Clark is an introvert and absolutely does not like conflict whatsoever. Clark likes organizations and people who manage themselves and we all know the NFL players cannot manage themselves.

Clark doesn't like to get involved unless he absolutely has to and when he does the situation has usually already boiled over(a la the Dorsey situation). Trust me Clark knew about these grumblings from coaches, staff and players a good 1 to 2yrs prior to the firing and did not "nip it in the bud"(whatever that meant) when he should have and look how the Pioli/Haley feud was handled that almost destroyed this organization.

No way and no owner should be able to be the comish. Too much conflict of interest.

King writes this because he smells blood in the water for Goodell for all his bunglings and the final straw pissing "We the People" off by not putting his foot down for America first that is now coming back to bite him and the owners in the arse in $$ lost. King sees CH as a good soldier but in reality CH would pee his pants within the first week of the job IMHO.

In my not-so-humble opinion, Jr. Hunt has been a marginal NFL owner that would be even worse as the comish but maybe that's what the majority of the owners want: Someone they can tell what to do and take the heat. If they're looking for dynamic leadership, he's not your guy.

This is never going to happen with Clark. He doesn't want any owners telling him what to do or blasting his ass in the media.

Clark has control now of his own team, it's all he wants. Besides, home in Dallas ( or in KC ) with Tavia & his kids is a whole lot better than that shit fest NYC!
