I think the sweating is the problem. I will look into different sox. I always thought the Merino wool was good at wicking away moisture.

jk.

It depends what kind of hunting. If you're bow hunting, I'll give you a tip. Buy a $30 camo sleeping bag, sew a couple of shoulder straps into the top....unroll, get in, stay warm.

I'm a big believer in hand warmers...I'll keep a couple in my pockets and I'll wear a tight second layer and put one in my back below my neck and one on my chest somewhere. Just having something warm touch a little skin seems to help me feel warm.

One of the guys from Nashville had a bag made for sitting in a tree stand. He said you just put your hands together like your praying and then push out and the bag unzips.

Does anyone have some land or a hunting lease I can chip in on? I am looking to get out of the public land race.

This^^^
Also to much insulation in your boots while walking into your stand and your feet sweat then you will be cold the whole time.

Less can be more I like rubber chore boots with a little insulation it also keeps scent down.

I have a question, It was pretty freaking cold 3 out of the 4 days of our hunt. I was layered up pretty good but I just can't keep my feet warm. I use some Merino Wool socks that I use for skiing but after a couple hours in the stand my feet start getting cold. My boots are insulated either 600 or 1000 grams I can't remember. I did try a pair of those insoles made by the hand warmer folks. I don't think they really helped.

What do you guys use to keep your feet warm?

Give these Sorels a go...

I have a couple heater body suits. They have footies and they are impressive. I think my Danner boots are 1300 grain.

YES SIR. 100%

You can find some on Amazon (if they have your size) for around $100. I tried on some at Scheels the other day and they were $180 there, for comparison purposes.

I've got an old pair of these...they are amazing

2400 gram boots that go halfway up the leg and some thick socks.

With those, your hands and face will make you quit before your feet do.

The heater body suit is by far the best single piece of gear I've ever bought. :thumb:

So small world, just seen you and your buck on Facebook. A buddy I went to high school with is part of the company you went hunting with. So just see you and your deer pop up on my feed

When I have the heater bag I wear a hoodie sweats and house shoes. No reason to be uncomfortable. Works great in the blind.

What do you guys use for trail cams? I want to invest in some better ones as mine are outdated shitboxes but I’m not breaking the bank just so some asshole can walk off with it.
