Looks very different from the standard Marvel movie look. Love the retro future Kirby inspired visuals.

Bowser 02-04-2025 05:39 PM

Man, they nailed the look of the FF from a retro-futuristic 60's. Well done. I'll never not be annoyed that they didn't cast John Krasinski and Emily Blunt as Reed and Sue, but they all look great. Ben looks amazingly comic accurate.

And, FINALLY - Galactus

BigRichard 02-11-2025 04:02 PM

I think I am actually going to like the Thunderbolts. It looks good to me.

I'm hopeful, but I'm not allowing my hopes to get too far up.

I'm very curious with how they use Sentry. He's so massively OP compared to the rest of this crew that he's nearly miscast as a character in this story. Maybe.

I do not go looking for MCU spoilers, nor have I seen any, but this made me chuckle (referencing Avengers: Doomsday, apparently)

None of the Spidermen.

I’ve read that Spider-Man 4 is going to be set at the same time as Doomsday. Secret Wars will also quickly follow Doomsday so we’ll likely see any who don’t show up in this one then.

Bowser 03-31-2025 01:05 PM

Oversaturation and DEI messaging has rendered the MCU lifeless. They have no rudder and are steaming full speed ahead over the falls. Disney might do well to slow down and right the ship instead of plowing into the next iceburg.

BigRichard 04-02-2025 09:46 AM

I still think the Thunderbolts movie doesn't look half bad but time will tell.

I mean... I never would've imagined we would get Sentry in a movie... we'll see if it's any good.

Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four have a lot of heavy lifting to do if the general public is going to care at all about Doomsday one bit.

I wonder what cameos both of those movies are going to bring. Banner was the only one that could go toe-to-toe with Sentry in the comics, but I don't believe Professor Hulk could do it. As for the FF, I have the feeling that we're going to see a LOT of characters we wouldn't have expected, for I think Reed is going to discover the incursions and go universe hopping with his family trying to save them with Galactus in pursuit (pure speculation on my part).

I was surprised Sentry was brought to screen, but I was kinda shocked they gave us a view of the Void in the last trailer.

They better not mess up The Void. I say this, knowing they will probably find a way to do such.

In regards to FF, I feel like we will get a Council of Reeds appearance, and I know Galactus will be in it, but honestly, I'd rather they focus on someone like Mole Man as a primary villain (which I know it's reported he's in it, but who knows what will happen). Don't get me wrong, Galactus is badass, but I feel like Galactus should be an Avengers film and not just a FF movie.

Also, a weird thing I think would be pretty cool... I think eventually The Maker needs to get involved in the MCU, and when he does, they should make it Miles Teller to just shit on Fan4stic even more.

Bowser 04-03-2025 02:38 PM

Yeah, with the Council of Kangs already established and the Council of Reeds a near certainty, I feel the Parliament of Dooms could also be introduced in here, but maybe not exactly how its portrayed in the comics (I really feel RDJ as Doom is misdirection; he'll be a variant and someone else is going to play Doom Prime). I think this FF movie is going to be a lot more massive in scope than we're expecting, especially considering how much groundwork they've already laid down regarding the multiverse and how it works.

And I dig the idea of Miles Teller being the Maker. He'd make a pretty good evil Reed. Inspired choice, lol.

(And while we're on it, I'm still holding out hope we see John Krasinski and Emily Blunt as Reed and Sue at some point. They're just too perfect for the casting to let it go to waste)

I think you start off Doomsday with Doom having manipulated a number of Kangs to achieve some goal of his and then completely eradicating the entire Council of Kangs.

I also think that it would be badass if Marvel took the beginning of Doomsday to show just how truly badass Doom is. Perhaps Thanos assembles the Infinity Gauntlet in Doom's universe and Doom stops him single-handedly. Something that shows just how dominant Doom is.

And yea, the Parliament of Doom in the comics would not be a good way to bring them to the MCU, but it could be a good idea to counter the Council of Reeds.

I don't know... I could see RDJ playing Doom.... but perhaps they get someone else to play God-Emperor Doom in Secret Wars and RDJ's Doom has to work alongside heroes he despises to achieve his greater goal.

I think Miles Teller would be a phenomenal Maker. And The Maker is one of the few villians that I genuinely think is Doom-level in terms of his capabilities. Guy made his own universe and intentionally went through it and removed all the origin points for any heroes that could contest him. That's a whole other level of evil.

I still think Krasinski and Blunt should be the primary Reed and Sue as well. Who knows, maybe we'll see them as variants like we saw Krasinski in Multiverse of Madness.

Fish 04-04-2025 09:07 PM

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet. But this sounds pretty cool..

Feige also revealed that Doomsday will feature multiple teams of heroes coming together to fight Doctor Doom: The Avengers, the Wakandans, The Fantastic Four, The Thunderbolts, and the original X-Men.

Cyclops got so shafted in the original X-Men trilogy. I decided to start watching X-Men 97 the other night. And in the first 5 minutes of that series they made Cyclops more badass and resemble his character better than they did in the entirety of the original X-Men trilogy.

Buddy, the peeks we're getting of Sentry are unreal.

My favorite Marvel character, and it looks like they're going to do him justice.

Doomsday looks promising. I respect what they're doing with the Fantastic Four but seeing as how I've literally never seen a good Fantastic Four movie, not even one, I'm not optimistic. Is there a superhero concept worse for movie making than that team?

I've seen a good Fantastic Four movie. It was called The Incredibles. It can be done dammit!

Saw Thunderbolts* Last Night. Gotta Say, one of the better things they've done since Endgame. And The Void... Damn. Gotta say. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Gravedigger 05-02-2025 03:21 PM

Yeah I saw it last night with the wife, really enjoyed it as well. I'll admit that they don't really explain Sentry very well in the movie which is my biggest gripe, they mention his background, they mention something that ends up being a joke later on that fell flat for me, and most of all just his powers overall. You know of the void if you've seen any of the trailers recently, that was well done, but as far as what makes him go into the void, and some other things I'm like... okay. The film ends super abruptly, I give them props for going a different path for the "final battle" type of sequence, very interesting. Red Guardian is hilarious, Ghost was a welcome return, she had some cool sequences, I find Florence Pugh as Yelena to be more enjoyable than Scarlet Johannsen as Black Widow so MCU found a good replacement for that type of hero, and John Walker was okay, had some good lines but was just there. I actually found Bucky out of place in all of it, wasn't really the leader, was just there to be there and give the movie an extra known actor to help promote it imo. Good writing, good laughs, doesn't take itself too seriously, or end up being too much of a joke like Thor Love and Thunder, was really good, can't wait for this summer slate of movies and this was a great kickoff. 8/10 for me.

Bowser 05-04-2025 08:24 PM

Thunderbolts was really enjoyable, better than I was anticipating. I really enjoyed Lewis Pullman as Sentry; he nailed the role I thought. Decent humor with jokes that landed more often than they didn't. I'll echo the sentiment of Bucky feeling out of place in this movie, but it wasn't egregious enough to take me out of the movie. Good effort by Marvel who has been hit or miss since Endgame with this one.

Very interested to see how Sentry evolves going into Doomsday and Secret Wars.

Direckshun 05-05-2025 09:38 AM

I thought the movie was pretty good, Yelena and the Sentry/Void were outstanding. Just fantastically depicted. I was so impressed.

I liked Yelena so much more in this film than Black Widow, and Red Guardian was well used in terms of using him for humor that doesn't feel forced.
