Andy Appreciation

Just found out Andy has his favorite burgers flown in from California, just an absolute legend move

jerryaldini 02-12-2023 09:54 PM

Second half was legendary play calling entire half. His masterpiece. Skyy TD, Toney TD, so many plays that were all about design. What more can you say. Reid with Mahomes and Kelce is unfair

Check this one out. Spent the whole season running that FB dive play into the ground until we were all sick of it, and in the last 4 minutes of the Super Bowl he runs a change-up off of it to get a monster 3rd down.

Eagles gave up on Andy 10 years ago. He got pretty awesome payback on Philly tonight.

chiefzilla1501 02-13-2023 02:33 AM

Lots of Chiefs players played well. Mahomes and kelce played well. But man, Reid is mvp of this game by a wide margin. We won today primarily because of creative offense playcalling

I think OL is probably at the top of the list. The best playcalling gets blown to hell when the OL struggles, as we saw in the Tampa Super Bowl. OL was awesome tonight, which allowed Andy's play designs to work out as we all hoped.

I've watched this about ten times; everyone executes perfectly on this play. Wylie reaches and perfectly cuts down Fletcher Cox, Humphrey stones Jordan Davis, and OBJ turns Hargrave inside allowing Thuney and Smith to pull out into traffic and seal the edge. Credit to the Eagles safety for saving what could have been a 20-30 yard gain.

If you like OL play, last night was porn.

Some of those plays he called were just absolutely perfect.

Sky Moore TD and Pacheco sweep on 3rd, poetry in motion.

Billicheck was the best team manager, Andy's the best play caller.

In the end, after this decade, Andy overcome's Billicheck as the GOAT.

I don't think I've ever seen you post something about how you're glad Andy Reid is our coach.

Keep looking, I'm sure you'll find it.

Take the defense of Andy in the SB we lost, for starters, work your way on from there.

Listen, it's not my fault that the posts that I've made about Andy Reid are based on his poor statistical record and fact.

You don't have to like that Andy experienced the most premium pant shitting in games he was favored to win. It happened, moreover it happened numerous times as no HoF coach has lost more games they were favored to win, than Andy.

You don't have to like that he owns two of the most horrific postseason collapses in NFL History. He owns them regardless.

As ive stated, ad nauseum for butt****ing moronic illiterate ****s like yourself, Andy Reid gets you a shot at the big one. Who wouldn't take that?

The criticisms I've leveled toward him are well earned, and well deserved. You can take your homeristic bundle of sticksry and fist yourself.

The man got it done. Again. No way I or any Chiefs fan can repay him, and in multiple threads that once again I'm sure you didn't ****ing read I've tipped the cap to his second half scheming 2 guys wide ****ing open, and managing the last 5 minutes offensively to perfection.

But it won't be good enough for ****s like you, who think this erases his history.

He has two championships in 9 title game appearances. Be mad about it. But he earned his record, and he earned his criticisms, and acting like someone saying just because Andy is favored to win a playoff game, doesn't mean he will is some kind of over the line hate is just asinine. It's just fact. Cry about it.

Fortunately for us, the Chiefs weren't favored in either the title game or Superbowl, so the bad mojo was defeated by default.

The poetry here, is Andy Reid cost the Eagles a second superbowl.

Now you run along and tell everyone how much Wallcrawler hates Andy Reid, you ****ing idiot.

It's funny, but not nearly as funny as your post in the Kelce draft thread.

This is one of those consider the source situations. Say whatever you want. Coming from a proven ****ing reerun, it means Jack shit.

Andy Reid is no longer allowed to be questioned or criticized ever again in my book.

He does whatever he wants. So does Veach. Forever. May as well shut down the board, because there's nothing left to discuss. Whatever they do is correct, and anyone who questions them is wrong. The end.

This play was old school, west coast, bill walsh brilliance.

No one runs pro set anymore, and you don't run wide from it often like this.

Have seen the Chiefs do it once or twice. Brilliant call.

DJ's left nut 02-13-2023 09:48 AM

The game was an absolute masterclass from the best to ever do it.

And the more you dig into it, the more obvious it becomes. Reid was ****ing LOCKED in. It was extraordinary.

And the thing is, it took a couple fantastic plays (and a bullshit overturn) for the Eagles to move the ball on that long drive. The tide had turned. The Chiefs offense was in rhythm and the Eagles offense was fighting tooth and nail for every 1st down. Our coaching staff had gotten ahead of theirs and it was only going to get worse for them from there.

I really feel like he retires when we inevitably go through a real rebuild. Sooner or later it's probably going to happen.

I do think however that we win 1 or 2 more before that happens. Every decade there has been a franchise that has won at least 3 rings.

We're this decade's dynasty.

The guy was a victim of his own success.

He drags a mediocrity like Donovan McNabb to conference championship games and even a Super Bowl, but then can't win with him and suddenly "Andy Can't Win the Big One!!!"

Meanwhile 95% of the coaches in this league would've struggled to take a team with McNabb to the post-season.

Sal walked by me yesterday at the game. I tapped him on the shoulder and said, “You better be nice to Andy Reid.” He gave me a look of death and kept walking.

The Andy Reid glare when he thought Paolantonio grabbed his arm remains just so damn epic.

He does NOT like that man...

He drags a mediocrity like Donovan McNabb to conference championship games and even a Super Bowl, but then can't win with him and suddenly "Andy Can't Win the Big One!!!"

Meanwhile 95% of the coaches in this league would've struggled to take a team with McNabb to the post-season.

mcnabb was always an out of shape dude with questionable committment to the game

that's why he ****ing puked in the biggest moment of his life

I read somewhere that McNabb was suffering from a hangover.

Veach owes his career to Big Red. He started in pro football in 2004, as a coaching intern with the Eagles. In ’07, the Eagles promoted him to Reid’s administrative assistant. Before leaving for vacation, Reid assigned Veach his first project: Study how the Colts’ defense morphed from terrible to stout. Analyze every game from a defensive perspective, he instructed. Then lay out which factors enabled the abrupt shift.

Veach tried everything: game analysis, video clips, data graphs, historical comparisons—the works. He printed the document, read it over and over for typos and errors in logic, made changes, printed it again and went to an office supply store. He bought a binder and placed his masterpiece inside, then beelined for Reid’s desk. Reid looked back at him, then down at the binder, then back at him, then down. The coach pointed to a sticker affixed to the front from the office supply store. He handed the binder back to Veach. He never read a single word of the report. Details matter.

Despondent, Veach called his parents. “Oh, my God, I just screwed this up. I don’t know if he wants me to come back. I’m not going to last that long. I just don’t think I’m cut out for this.”

Reid actually thought the opposite. One late night in October 2008, they were sitting in Reid’s office, studying film. The fireworks exploding out the window announced that the Phillies had won the World Series. Sirens blared from police cars headed toward the ballpark for the revelry certain to ensue. Both loved the bottomless depth of the, ahem, passion displayed by local sports fans, how it tethered all of Philadelphia to the same space, a sporting soul.

“One day, we’re gonna do this, you know?” Reid said.

It gets lost in there that one year McNabb got hurt and they still almost made a conference championship game with a late-30's Jeff Garcia.

Yeah. It was hard to listen to Philly fans bitch about clock management and not winning the big games in our decade of darkness.

It would have been nice to be relevant after week 1, much less worry about if we could beat the best team in the league.

I’ll admit I didn’t want a retread at the time. Especially since that dude looked TIRED plus we were talking about Jeff Fisher (Fisher would have been the end of my fandom). But it’s fine. He’s the best coach in the league.

100% crow I’ll eat from now until the end of time.

It all worked out. Without the suffering of the Pioli years, we may not have been between regimes when Andy became available.

Thank you Philly for being too smart to keep Andy!

Reminded me of a Dorktown video that talks about the butterfly effect of a God awful drive vs the Jets that led us to Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes

The second half by Andy was pure genius, culminating in the play-call that generated the holding call on Bradburry. Just look at how Andy sets up PHI's defense on those three drives. And the design of that route; what is that exactly? Because it's for damn sure not a typical route. It's some kind of hybrid. And look at how many guys are pointing right after it happens; it's like they expected the hold to happen right there.

Andy is a sorcerer.
