Personally I'd prefer the draft coverage was 90% Chiefs talk. But the people that choose coverage try to hit on what will garner the most interest. In round 7 of the nfl draft, it's going to be Sam or Tim Tebow or whatever other overexposed story they can cling to. The "masses" don't give a shit that Joe Linebacker that won't make the practice squad was just chosen by Football Team X.

The difference was Manziel got drafted in round 1. It was also a totally different narrative. There were no fairness overtures with Manziel. But you're right in that it was over the top as well.
