Oh yeah, I know business will eventually rebound with a vengeance. I'm already planning on not having much of a life for the 3-6 months immediately following, but at the moment everybody is just trying to get by. It's hard to justify hiring a divorce lawyer when you can't even pay your rent.

I think I may have figured out what the hell is causing all the pain in the site of the extraction. It seems a shard of tooth/bone was left in there after the extraction and is currently making it's way out of the gum.

I've been taking regular photos of the inside of my mouth as it has gone through the healing process. As of yesterday I was feeling something of a lump but today it seems to have broken through the newly forming gum.

Leave it be and let it come out on it's own or should I make an appointment with the dentist that did the initial extraction?

I remember when I had my wisdom teeth removed when I was 19 I had a shard of tooth come out the side of my gum and I reached in and ripped it out via fingernail. I want to reach in there and snag it with a pair of sterilized tweezers but I just can't get a good angle to see what the hell I am doing in there.

/just checked and the dentist's shop is closed due to Covid-19. Fantastic.

Damn, wish you were in the Wichita area. I cracked my top back molar on the right side the other night (so bad that I can feel the gap of the crack with my tongue). The night it happened it hurt so bad I almost called a dentist here in town to see if he would meet me at his office during the night to pull it, but I toughed it out and finally was able to fall asleep for an hour or two. Strangely enough, when I woke up it was completely pain free. I figured I'd just roll with it until this stupid COVID19 shit gets over with (since all the dentists around here are closed for everything except emergencies), but it's been acting up here and there so I may just have to try and get an appt. set up during the week to have him meet me to pull it. I know the recommendation is to always try to keep your tooth, but the guy I sit next to at work got his back molar pulled like 15 years ago and said it hasn't effected him a single bit and I really don't want to drop the coin on a root canal and crown (if it's even possible). Not gonna lie, I'm a candy ass when it comes to the dentist so I'm not looking forward to it but I'm told that once I get the gas and the shot, I won't even really feel anything. I hope that's right.

It’s not abnormal to have some bone work it’s way out. If it’s painful you may wanna see it you can get someone to take it out. Usually it resolves in its own

If it’s a second molar and you aren’t missing any other teeth, it wouldn’t be the worst thing to have it taken out. You won’t really miss it

Watching someone get a dental implant always gives me the creeps, screwing into the gums and shit.

You can actually immediately load those if you get the right torque and eat on it that night.

There's no "feeling" in bone so it's not as much of an issue.

O.city, do you do implants? What is the cost for one verses a root canal and crown?
