Can someone please watch Adolescence and back me up? It might be the best thing I’ve ever watched in any medium outside of Shawshank Redemption and I mean that.

To add some teaser: imagine if Clay lived in the UK and never found CP. How do you think that would’ve ended up for him?

As one of the extras in this. I'm pretty sure this is how he spends his time away from CP.

Yes it is. Show runners said as much. And the main character is literally diagnosed with mental illness during the show.

You attempting to paint me as a murderer is really ****ing lame. Have a great Sunday.

No, they actually didn’t say that at all. Writing a script because you’ve observed some instances of a particular type of violence in society that you wish to illuminate doesn’t equate to writing a story that’s true to letter of a particular case.

And the main character isn’t diagnosed with anything.

100% false.

Yes he is. At the end of the third episode the de facto psychiatrist literally recommends he seek treatment for whatever mental disease he has.

She recommends therapy. That's pretty reasonable for a child with the issues he's facing. If you could see past your own experience, you'd understand it's a show a lot more about the depth of what children are going through and exposed to (and how it's impacted and affected by all those around them) rather than just a simple base issue of mental illness. Remarkable (and sad) you allegedly watched this entire thing and couldn't figure that out.

And 100% false? Please provide that evidence.

Piss off. Enjoy wanking to your depressing BS that will win no awards.

Hilarious that Clay is throwing a fit over a show that is trying to warn the public about this red pill, incel shit.

He still is a ****ing idiot though.

He's such a predictable idiot.

I saw this awhile back, but why the hell did FX cancel The Old Man? That was such a bad ass show.

Happy to make a ban bet on that if you’d like.

This argument alone has moved the show to the top of my "next to watch" list after I finish The Pitt!

Adolescence is one of the best things Netflix has ever put out. The kid that plays Jamie (Owen Cooper) put on probably the best performance I've ever seen from someone 15 or younger. The fact that this is the first thing he's acted in is hard to believe.

He's better than 90% of the actors in Hollywood.

God damn he was good.

HemiEd 03-25-2025 02:18 AM

We are all different, I wouldn't put it in the top 50. Disturbing and depressing to me but to each his own.

ThrobProng 03-25-2025 09:06 AM

Probably already mentioned, but "Fool Me Once" on Netflix is off to a good start. I'm 2 episodes in.
