This is Demis Hassabis. One of the smartest human's on earth. PHD in neural science from M.I.T. A Nobel prize winner for mapping all the proteins in our body. Use to take a year to map one protein, he used A.I. to map 200 in a year. .

He thinks A.I. is going possibly lead to the elimination of diseases in a decade. Create a Vaccine for a new diseases in weeks instead of years.

The primary benefit of AI right now is not really "intelligence". It's that they can consume massive amounts of data in the fraction of the time a person can.

This... and also it will regurgitate and compile the data into a requested output with the same speed of lightning comparison to humans.

What does this equate to per hour

I'm very interested in what advancements can be accomplished in medical/health area.

Also would love to see how the brain works. Still so many unknowns.

Agreed. This is baby steps compared to what's coming.

First AI driverless are officially approved by Texas.

Driverless trucks are officially running their first regular long-haul routes, making roundtrips between Dallas and Houston.

On Thursday, autonomous trucking firm Aurora announced it launched commercial service in Texas under its first customers, Uber Freight and Hirschbach Motor Lines, which delivers time- and temperature-sensitive freight. Both companies conducted test runs with Aurora, including safety drivers to monitor the self-driving technology dubbed "Aurora Driver." Aurora's new commercial service will no longer have safety drivers.

"We founded Aurora to deliver the benefits of self-driving technology safely, quickly, and broadly, said Chris Urmson, CEO and co-founder of Aurora, in a release on Thursday. "Now, we are the first company to successfully and safely operate a commercial driverless trucking service on public roads."

The trucks are equipped with computers and sensors that can see the length of over four football fields. In four years of practice hauls the trucks' technology has delivered over 10,000 customer loads. As of Thursday, the company's self-driving tech has completed over 1,200 miles without a human in the truck.

Aurora is starting with a single self-driving truck and plans to add more by the end of 2025.

Self-driving technology continued to garner attention after over a decade of hype, especially from auto companies like Tesla, GM and others that have poured billions into the tech. Companies in the market of autonomous trucking or driving tend to use states like Texas and California as their testing grounds for the technology.

When will AI master artificial blood.

Yes, great thread... these no-code vibe coding solutions are crazy good.

Manus.ai, Cursor, Windsurf, Lovable, Crewai etc...

If you are looking for solutions to level up yo shit...

http://futuretools.io
https://theresanaiforthat.com/

And my favorite tool to play with is http://notebooklm.google.com

You can put YouTube videos and PDFs, etc in there... generate study guides, chat with the docs, generate a mind map... and create a podcast you can talk with from the source material.

We are almost to custom JARVIS, actually. Especially with AI Agents.

Saw that at CES in the transportation technology hall

Some of the self driving taxis with side doors that slide apart were some of the coolest tech I liked.

I talked with one of the best AI guru's in the world yesterday. We worked together to set up the military's first AI environment in 2010. He called because his bosses wanted to see if I wanted in on a massive AI project in retail banking since I had set up the first cloud at Bank of America. But, my memory issues are going to keep me retired. You need 100% of your functioning brain and memory to do those jobs.

When's the downside of AI coming? He said:
  • He thinks in the next 3-4 years, the USA will lose 5% of our jobs.
He thinks in the next 5-6 years, the USA will lose 10% of our jobs.
He thinks in the next 10 years, the USA will lose 25% of our jobs.
Thinks we will have to have the government give every citizen some level of minimum money to stave off riots and starvation.

He got caught hacking by someone else turning him in to get themself off. Looking at a 25 year sentence. He took a deal to work for the military for 10 years in which he got paid very well by the military.

He had to do whatever they wanted, in any location in the world, plus good work reviews or the 25 years will be served. Worked with about 5-6 of those techs forced to work with the military. All of them were some of the smartest humans I ever met in my 66 years on this earth.
