Chiefs have met with a LOT of LT's before the draft so imo we can't rule out the possibility that Taylor playing LT could be a smokescreen before draft night. If they draft a talented LT on a rookie contract then the money would still work even if Taylor plays RT.

It will be interesting to see how many LT's chiefs bring in for a visit in the weeks ahead.

Andy’s always been a big dude.

Plenty of overweight people with decent physical fitness.

I hear you man. But in every interview he gives, Andy is breathing like he just ran a marathon.

I don’t think it’s a stretch to say he’s a bit out of shape.

Plus Andy has a balanced diet. Plenty of lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, dairy and protein.

Could still trade for Tunsil. It'd give us the best O line in the league.

Taylor is just good enough we could sell him as a fill in LT and not expensive enough to be pissed if he's a RT. And he'd be a solid RT.

This move gives Veach options. Could still trade for Tunsil or make a move for a LT in the draft if one he likes is within range. Hell, he could draft a RT as well for that matter.

Elite QB
Great OL
JAG WR and RB
Solid defense

That's what Belichick did for Brady. Gave him a great OL, great defense, and mostly JAG weapons. Worked extremely well for them. Protecting the QB from injury is more important than giving him the best weapons.

Correct, it's very much a wait and see situation if this LT plan works out or not.

Difference with him is that he’s not throwing a fit to play LT. so a trade or draft of a LT is still on the table.

It’s really the only proven way to stay competitive every year and also stay below the cap with an elite QB.

If he does end up playing RT, I don't mind having a good one there. It's not like there aren't many good to great pass rushers playing mostly on that side. Chiefs can still draft one or maybe trade for LT. Or maybe Taylor makes the switch to LT.

We'll have to wait and find out!

Jesus, they aren't doing that

Awful high money for a RT. Sure, the better RTs are between 18 and 19.5 now but it's a lot to pay if you don't have a rookie contract LT. I think the only teams that have a similar situation are the Broncos and Eagles and they are paying relatively modestly at LT at 17 and 16 million, which puts combined AAV around 33-34. If you do Tunsil, you probably have a combined AAV of around 44m. That's a lot man.

I certainly like the idea because I'm just not that overly keen on Taylor at LT. If that's the true plan, man, call me cautiously optimistic. I like Taylor as a RT and his ascension has been good. My biggest worry was if he has been keeping his weight issues firmly under control, which he definitely seems to be doing so that's great. Taking a career RT and pushing him to LT is a new worry though. Not so sure about that dynamic. There's a lot more to it than just swapping sides. If Reid feels confident in that, then I have to trust it.

Second most important position on this team besides QB.

Agree but you cant do it when you are already paying top dollar at several other positions. PM deal is a good contract but it is still a huge cap hit. The NFL has a huge problem now with the cap and how salaries are structured. #1 The amount even average QBs get is way out of line as percentage of cap goes. #2 A team like the jack ass Raiders decide to completely over pay Adams and thus every receiver gets a huge raise going forward. This will not continue to be viable. You cant have a QB AVG 40 million and several other guys at 20 million plus. If you ad four players at 20 million, a QB at 40 million, you have over 50% of the cap going to 5 guys. Has to end somewhere. The idea that any left tackle is worth more to a team then Kelce is simple untrue. The sytem is broken.
