O City

I'm looking to buy some Quaaludes but having some problems. Apparently they haven't made any since the Wolf of Wall Street

Does a cease and desist letter work on a homeless guy?

Been a couple months. Guess we could fire up the dental thread.

Alot of talk about the whole fluoride issue lately. We use alot of it (yes, I'm an evil dentist who uses fluoride), but if patients don't want it, no issues.

If anyone has any issues with it, may I recommend hydroxyapatite tooth paste. NOBS is one I've had some success with as an alternative.

I don't have the energy for the battles on fluoride either way anymore I guess. Do it, don't do it.

Had an interesting case resolved. Guy had been having pain on the upper left for a bit, came in...I couldn't find anything. He's a retired ER doc, super nice dude, we talk about the Chiefs and fishing alot. Percussion testing, cold testing, xrays etc. Sent him to periodontist and endodontist. They couldn't find anything, thought maybe a cracked tooth but not sure.

Pain went away. Good deal, no issue. In today for a cleaning, said the pain was back when he chewed. I immediately go to "cracked tooth somewhere".

Start looking around, found an upper bicuspid with a big amalgam filling in it, cracks surrounding it. Tapped on it, pain. Perfect, figured this out.

He asks why it was hurting then stopped, then hurt again, why I couldn't find the crack....I start sweating a little thinking how I'm gonna answer this to an ER doctor and not sound like a hack.

He laughs, says "I'm just ****ing with you, the body's weird". I shook my head, grumbled at him for being an asshole.

Took the old filling out, cleaned up the cracks and prepped it for a crown. Text him a few minutes ago to check on it..."feels fine, no pain when I ate, quit worrying and don't be such a bitch".

Damn old retired boomers.

My dentist gave me a saliva test today. Apparently Im dying cuz it was bad and got a 34 out of 40. Supposed to be 10 or less or ur saliva is Apparently eating your teeth and gums until you become a bottomless pit of cells without bone and teeth.

Then they did a laser on my gums because I have stage 2 Periodontitis. They make me come every 3 months now for a cleaning and threatened gum scaling again because i am a piece of shit who doesn't brush correctly or floss enough.

I never do fluoride because it costs extra although maybe i should. I am already dumb as fk per CP so I don't have anything to worry about

I....have no clue what a saliva test is.

I decided to do what the dentist says, and I flossed about 5 days a week. I was already brushing good, I just didn't have the flossing down.

Then my teeth checkups were darn near sterling the last 20 years.

Yeah I think I just need to bite the bullet. I have an annoying bridge on my bottom right molar. Its really difficult to get to. Going to buy a water pik. Electric toothbrush and floss anytime I sit on the couch. Just extremely difficult for me to remember to floss.

I think you can measure the distance to the moon with it. You just have to find where that mirror on the surface is.

Water piks are great for what you need. I decided they were kind of messy so I returned to flossing. Do what works for you and stick with it.

Wild day here in rural MO office.

Storms rolling thru earlier, power went out when I was in the middle of a root canal. Had to finish with no power, only light from my headlight on my loupes. No drill or anything to finish.

Don't think the patient had a good time.

Wife called and we have 2 big trees down at the house, luckily all missed the house. Guess I get to chainsaw for a while when I get home.
