I have zero ties to Mizzou and Maclin is one of my most desired FAs

Anyone like Andre Roberts out of AZ? Chances are they won't be able to keep him and they didn't use him as much this past season as they did in 2012. His numbers went down because Arians liked to utilize the TE in the slot a lot and Roberts is the 3rd Wr behind Fitz and Floyd. He's not quite as explosive but is more consistent of a player than Maclin is. He ran a 4.4 flat at the combine and has learned from the best in the business in Fitzgerald. Could be prime for a breakout year. I mean, he put up 700+ yards in 2012 with John Skelton as his main QB.

averages about 850 yards per year, with a 13+ yard per catch

doesn't seem that injury prone

2 injuries to the same knee is bothersome

imo we need to sign a pass catcher in FA and draft one. We need more speed and explosion on offense and in our secondary.

Laz:

Have you checked the Eagles' weekly injury report list during Maclin's career? :D

BossChief 01-30-2014 08:02 PM

I think it's funny that I caught so much shit for being happy we drafted Moeaki because of his injury history...but so many here want us to sign a guy that has blown out the same knee twice.

If Maclin played for Iowa and Moeaki played for MU, these two players perceptions would be completely different, I think.

Maclin's done a hell of a lot more in the NFL than Moeaki. This isn't Danario Alexander we're talking about.

That'd be a closer comparison. (And even he has done more than Moeaki)

ROFL the ****?

BossChief 01-30-2014 08:28 PM

The guy has missed 20 games in his 4 year career.

Moeaki missed 16 games in his 5 years in college.

If it weren't for those injuries, Moeaki would have been a first round pick.

If it weren't for Maclins injuries, he would be a top tier free agent.

Both are injury gambles with his upside and really low floors.

O.city 01-30-2014 08:29 PM

16 of hose came in one year

BossChief 01-30-2014 08:35 PM

9 of Moeakis came in 1 year and his injuries came from broken bones that once healed are actually stronger most of the time.

Maclin has torn up the same acl twice.

Maclin had an ACL injury this year, which happens to receivers. The previous four years, he played 15, 16, 13, and 15 games.

So a 1st and whatever the browns want on our roster(exc jamaal) for Gordon?

Tony had an acl injury in 2011, which happens to tight ends. Tony had 15, 15, 10 (out of 12) and 9 (out of 12) in his last 2 years in college and his time in KC...basically the surrounding years of his acl injury.

So, apart from his acl year he had really only missed 7 games in those 4 years.

I would do that before touching MACLin.

Moeaki's played 31 games in four NFL seasons. Anyone who worried about his injury history has been proven right. Maclin, on the other hand, played in 59 games in his first four NFL seasons.

So, other than the two situations being completely different... well, no, that's it. They're completely different. I'm not saying the Chiefs should sign him, I'm not saying Maclin's never going to miss another game, and I'm not saying he'll ever be a healthy player, but I am saying that your comparison sucks.
