Everyone who says Alex Smith sucks or Andy Reid is terrible is simply, unequivocally stupid. Period. That's it. There is no argument or debate.

It's the simple mind's way of viewing the world - good, bad, black, white, yes, no. Intelligent people see the the varying grades and shades of the world and attempt to adjust their interpretations and strategies accordingly.

A good QB doesn't blow a 35 pt playoff lead.

RealSNR 05-13-2015 11:07 AM

It's more me trolling BigChieffan on his thinking that Jaelen Strong is good, or even that he was the type of WR that we needed on this team.

Alex Smith is averageish. And that's what sucks.

Alex Smith is purgatory. You're not supposed to like him. It's not supposed to be fun. However, at least it's painless.

He went a little overboard because we finally took a risk, rather than taking the safe pick.

Not one single TD to a receiver over the course of an entire season, and Smith is "average"?

Someone needs to break out their mother****ing dictionary and get busy.

Also, Reid is a game-day maroon who has been studying Edwards and Haley game film, apparently.

Thank you.

It's Inmem. People respond to him, and that's how this shit gets started.

You only have yourselves to blame.

RunKC 05-14-2015 10:27 AM

Shit WR's this team still scored more points than half the league? Pretty big testament to Reid and his offense.

Yes, everybody hated Dorsey until this pick. Now they're raising money to create the largest statue in the world of him that can be seen from outer space. Its kind of funny actually because when seen from outer space it looks like he is pissing on the Great Wall. Dorsey has done a very admirable job. This pick was every thing I want with a pick. Extremely high ceiling. But its high risk. 1st round picks should be hofers. Aim to get a hofer and if he busts there's always next year. Not the end of the world.

And his favorite childhood team passing on him for a WR he'll have to defend is another factor too.

Eh, we saved him from a life of shitty servitude in the worst venue in all of the NFL; he'll come around pretty quick once he gets a taste of Trufus Dawes on Sunday.

pugsnotdrugs19 12-20-2015 10:48 PM

Peters' was at the top of my want list on draft day, no sh*t.

I didn't want to waste a high pick on a WR2 in this offense, and I didn't want a O Lineman that early.

I knew Smith was likely on the way out after this year, and Peters was my #1 dude right in front of Waynes.

Mother****erJones 12-20-2015 11:34 PM

I knew we needed a top corner and someone with edge for this defense. Peters is this teams MVP this year. I've wanted a ball hawking secondary in the worst way.

pugsnotdrugs19 12-20-2015 11:50 PM

At his current rate.....

Top 3 CB by 2017, and maybe even next years end. He will only get better.

His INTs will likely go down though as teams will be afraid to target him.

Coach 12-20-2015 11:51 PM

As long he doesn't turn into another Dale Carter, that'd be great.

Coach 12-20-2015 11:59 PM

Of course, when I mentioned Dale Carter, I remembered he had 7 INT's in his rookie year.

Interceptions by player during rookie season:

1. Bobby Hunt - 8 (1962)
2T. Dale Carter - 7 (1992)
2T. Marcus Peters - 7 (2015)

The problem he has right now is that he's playing off the ball trying to bait the QB into throwing his way so he can break on it for the Int.

He did it a lot in college and got away with it a lot more.

He's got great instincts and no fear in terms of going for the ball. Reads the QB very well. Gets him into trouble sometimes though as he's playing off a little too far and he's been giving up yardage, especially early in the games.

If he learns to play up more effectively, he's going to be truly special.

Of course it helps that he gets thrown at a lot.

That said, he is quickly becoming one of my favorite Chiefs to watch. I was exited about the pick and it is paying dividends faster than I would have thought possible.

penbrook 12-21-2015 12:52 AM

He leads the NFL in passes defensed and is second in the NFL in INTs and has the most INT return yards in the NFL. Not only is he looking at DROTY but he can be in the conversation for defensive player of the year as well!

Buckweath 12-21-2015 08:55 AM

Peters is far from DPOY and has room for much improvement. Some of you might forget he has given up plenty of big plays and TDs. The thing with Peters is he will probably improve and become a shutdown corner and as he improves, he will probably get thrown at much less than now. As such, his INTs number will probably go down quite a bit. That's why I wouldn't be surprised if, as he improves, his impact isn't much greater than it is now, because he's had a huge impact on this defense as a ballhawk and being thrown at a lot this season.

Darby is good. Better overall in coverage than Peters so far. But INTs are game changers, so Peters deserves the nod over Darby for DRoY.
