Don't forget about Niang. If he's cooked, then he's cooked, and the Chiefs would have a much better idea of that than we do. But if they determine it's just some bad luck and they think he can play and not get hurt... I mean, the Chiefs did have plans for him playing both left and right tackle, and he's had several years' experience working with the coaches and whatnot. They had some pretty big plans for him in 2021 until the injury.

It could very well be that the Chiefs got Taylor just to say, "Look, we've got one of the tackles locked down. We're not sure if that's going to be the left or the right side. It depends on how well Taylor does on the left and also who we draft and what the current guys on the roster end up doing."

Just throwing shit at the wall, here. Flame away. I know how half the board hates Niang's guts and thinks he's a pussy, but you're going to hold that opinion no matter how much Niang might possibly impress the coaches, so there you have it.

Like him or not, I think Andy has to play him next season. Too much time and effort has been invested to have him do nothing next season. And he has looked decent when he's been healthy. just a really small sample size. It's sink or swim time.

I think they might add a Remmers type just in case, but I would think you're right.

Unless they're comfortable with Winnebago.

Orlando Brown has name recognition.

Do you really think he was a top of the league left tackle the last two years?

So much ****ing potential with Niang but a never-ending series of injuries. Hip labrum as a senior which is why I don't hold sitting the COVID year against him, he needed the recovery anyhow. But that's one. Then he starts 7 games at RT and gets the shoulder injury. Then he comes back from that and tears his patella... I mean ****. The guy is always getting hurt.

He has the potential to be a really ****ing good player though... You can't start him and not have a solid 1B plan with him. I'd be fine with him if you can sign a vet like Josh Wells and draft a guy like Wanya Morris that has swing potential. But man, it worries me. I don't think I'd not take a homerun swing if it presents itself just because we have him.

Where did that come from?

Frank Clark had 4.5 sacks in 2021 and made the Pro Bowl.

End of that argument.

This went around for like 8 seconds the night of the SB if I recall. I’m sure it was something taken out of context that’s been passed around the Chiefs echo chamber as if it’s a real thing.

It’s not a good day on CP until someone suggests Thuney at LT at least once and is actually serious about it.

Not worried about Taylor at LT. Veach doesn’t make this trade without Andy’s blessing. Andy knows Olinemen well and if he is comfortable and confident that Taylor can play LT to a level that Brown Jr did or better then I am fine with that.

Yeah, I think they'll draft an OT early. It makes the most sense. though Veach sometimes goes off the rez in the draft. Either way, they'll bring in at least one more OT.

God, I hope nothing transpires where Remmers is our starting LT in the playoffs. In fact, I'd rather Veach make a move to draft a good WR or I'd almost rather he take a flyer on OBJ than put Remmers in that situation.

RealSNR 03-14-2023 07:28 PM

Prince Winnebago DID look good for like that half a game he played this year.

Which is why, hear me out now.

Why we should be putting Kinard at RG and move Trey Smith over to LT. Then put Creed Humphrey over at RT and have Taylor play center. Keep Thuney where he is at.
