It's not folklore, it's the "thing that happened that I watched and remember, regardless what you our other KU fans think"
|
His two best stretches by game score there were the end of December (against inferior competition) and then right before he got hurt. He was clearly trending upwards going into March.

Everyone except BWillie: we agree

Joel Embiid significantly improved between KU and while in the NBA. Not while at KU. He was a great, consistent player at KU who got hurt. Then became all world in the NBA. |

If I remember correctly, Joel's issues early on were fouls. He was always in foul trouble so had a hard time staying in the game. He got better as the season went.

KJ monitoring this situation for sure. |
Would be hilarious to watch Self screw up a 3rd straight season with KJ on the team.

Is Jacque Vaughn returning to Kansas as part of the coaching staff? Oh boy….

Personally, I think it would be a home run and I think most KU fans would be excited by it. |

Yeah, sign me up for this one. If he can do for our guards what Manning did for our bigs, it’s a great move. |
I think JV would be a homerun hire of a coach, once HCBS decides to move on.
Experience at all 3 major stages - PG at a blueblood, long/solid career in the league, and coaching experience in the league. Sign me up. |

Bwillie came with the message board. It's a module AustinChief, DaFace and company added to drive content.
Here's the code design: https://media.licdn.com/dms/image/v2...JURJDRy675VPAQ |

Kinda feels like a no brainer. Get it done. Hand over the keys.

Jacque is way over-qualified for just an assistant coach position so I'm thinking there is a lot of validity to the rumor. He'd be coach in waiting. I mean, it did work out for Duke I guess
|
Hard to have much of an opinion on Vaughn as a coach at a program like KU without any college head coaching experience.
He did have that Brooklyn Nets team playing hard for that one season after he replaced Nash though. |
Yeah and his head coaching positions in the NBA were problematic organizations for reasons that didn't have to do with him. He's smart and experienced. I don't hate it at all.
|
I always hoped that Frank Mason would find his way to the coaching staff

Again, it was a Sunday trip to Phoenix and a feeling-it-out discussion about a bench position and head coach in-waiting designation. Not exactly an offer from KU, but a hey what would you think of this type of deal. |

YES! bring back one of my all-time favorite hawks. Dont care what capacity - guy's a competitor and smart, and knows how to command the floor.

If Self is ok with this he really must be at the end of his rope and ready to get out.
I am surprised he would bring in a Coach Williams guy and not a guy from his own system. |
I dunno if guys from his own system are at that age yet? He's never had a problem with Williams guys at all. Or Williams himself.

Look up and down Self's staffs over the years. He loves yes men. That is not what Jacque Vaughn is. Now if he is willing to look in the mirror and accept new ideas then I would be ecstatic.

KJ will then play here forever; he'll be bringing the energy and bricking 10 footers well into his 40s. |

Kurtis Townsend is probably the most 'yes man' as it gets, though. And he's been here a loooong time. I'll give you that.
|
Quote:
Doesn't mean its a done deal. Maybe Self gave him an answer about how long he's staying. Vaugh is not an asst. coach in college basketball. He's only taking the job to be the head coach in waiting. Which I'm good with. |

Sounding more and more like Coward will be staying in the NBA Draft. If he does Duke is going to steal Dame Sarr from us.

Huge get for us with Dame Starr.
Going to be fun watching him and Peterson together next year. |

Darryn Peterson - PG/SG Dame Sarr - SG Tre White - G/F Bryson Tiller - F Flory Bidunga - F/C Is that kinda what we're looking at? |

I'd guess: Peterson Council/Dawson - who I think might run the point some too while DP plays the #2 Sarr White Bidunga |

Well, however it plays out, it appears we're gonna have a much more athletic lineup out there than we've had in a few years.
