I really don't want to lose Wiggins though, I feel like we can swing a trade without him. I feel like there has to be more to it then just Love for Wiggins straight up though.. Love is walking from Minnesota reguardless after this season.

Minnesota holds the cards here; they don't have to do anything. I'm betting the price starts as wiggins and waiters and goes from there.

That's the same GM that A) didn't draft waiters, B) drafted Wiggins, C) said Wiggins is a SG.

I'm simply saying the Cavs need to stick to their guns and say they won't give up Wiggins in the trade for Love. They can stand pat, sign Lebron, and get Kevin Love next offseason for free.

Yeah, no. Loves got 1 year left and then he's gone.

I see it the complete opposite way. They either take whatever they can get or lose Love to free agency and are just shit out of luck.

Ho badly does Cleveland want to make Lebron happy?

How badly does Minnesota want to get something in return for their all-star player?

The fact is, this is one of the more interesting negotiations you could fathom. There are so many things in play here, not the least of which is FOUR DIFFERENT first overall Cleveland picks.

Bad blood.
Best Prospect since Lebron.
Actual Lebron.
Three different Canadian players!
Underachieving Bennet
Miami's pitch.
Positional redundancy between Waiters/Wiggins/Bennett/Lebron
Minnesota needing to get SOME value for Love.
Love willing to sign extension with Cleveland if Lebron is there.
Will Lebron go there without Love?
Will Lebron go there without love?
Can love exist between Gilbert and Lebron?
Can love exist in space?
Can anyone hear you scream in space?
Will Lebron and Love star in Space Jam 2?

THe difference is Minnesota doesn't have to deal him today. They control the timeline through the trading deadline. You think cleveland wants to wait?

I doubt they'll have trouble finding suitors.

Lolol Minnesota doesn't hold the cards. Cleveland could easily pass on him and just sign him a year later. No way should they give up Wiggins, sure as hell not Wiggins AND Waiters.

DaKCMan AP 07-09-2014 04:12 PM

Umm... Cleveland is hardly the only team interested in Love. Boston wants him badly. Cleveland's only upperhand is offering Wiggins.

RustShack 07-09-2014 04:12 PM

Also, they are saying James has made up his mind now. And I feel good since that was reported right before he went into the meeting with Riley.

Exactly. Cleveland needs to make this trade now more than Minnesota does.

Love may not sign an extension with Boston. He already said he will if Cleveland gets Lebron. So they have the upper hand in landing him.

And Minn can trade him to any other team just as easily. They can trade him anytime from now till halfway through the season, they have plenty of time to stall. The onus is on Cleveland to get the deal done.

Or, Minnesota waits to see who needs a pf next season. I'd love to see love in Cleveland next season, but they'll have to pay to get him.
