Congrats to KSU. Definitely a much bigger game for their players than ours and they showed it tonight.

This game was a bit reminiscent of KU's road losses at Florida and Colorado. No energy nearly the entire game until a late flurry at the end to make it close. KU definitely didn't deserve to win those and they don't deserve it today either.

The real concern for KU is going to be Embiid's status going forward. They're a completely different team without him. No defense really at all. Have to focus on getting him healthy for the tournament games. I still suspect they can still win the conference even if he's out an extended time.

It's not exactly hype, they're 1st in RPI, 2nd in BPI this year and 8th in KenPom. Statistically, they're a very good team (at least with Embiid healthy). Not sure how a road loss against another good team in OT changes that.

Good win KSU. Cats played far better than the score dictated. This was the kind of effort I expected in AFH. Not sure what all went on, but i was surprised by KSUs output in the initial meeting.

We haven't won a rough game yet. Blueprint is there. Physical in the middle and we have no answer.

KSU did play tougher, they were hungrier than we were. It appeared we were just going through the motions tonight.

KU lost because they lacked intensity on the court, and KSU wanted it more.

They just played lazy, not even tired, but like they just didn't want to try and win because it was going to be a dogfight the whole way.

I know this team is young, but it's going to take some major understanding that this kind of play absolutely can not happen 1 month from now.

I've said since the offseason, as great as this recruiting class was, I feel like I'm in the worst of all possible worlds until the buzzer sounds at the end of March Madness. There is no excuse for this roster to do anything short of win an NCAA championship. Every win is subdued. Every loss is subdued. Until the field is set and the march to an NCAA championship begins.
Saturday, I was like 'yeah, they won handily, but it wasn't impressive.' Today they lost and I was like ''yeah, but KSU was REALLY pumped.'

Never thought I'd agree with Como (or Michael Sam's Gaping Butthole), but in a way I kind of do. KU is very good, at least with Embiid. When they turn it on, they're better than any other team in the country. But it seems they lack the consistent drive to be great like some other of Self's teams ('08, '10, and '12 stand out).. I was hoping it would come to them as the season went on, but it doesn't look like it has.
