My plan is to zip together a circle, maybe 6-8' in diameter, and then "hoop" 3-4 different directions to the opposite side, so that it looks kind of like a "tent" or something, probably strap a tire to it to hold them down.

Other ideas I've considered is digging into the side of the "steep banks down at a sharp angle and dumping in some quickcrete and then sticking some stuff in there.

I've got some 12" plus tube(field tile centers) that I'm going to use somehow, just not sure.

I've seen some "ball" things that you stick PVC into like a spike I've considered buying or trying to make with a box full of crete.

In short, if anyone has done something that has worked well, I'm all ears.

I used gallon milk jugs with the tops cut off. Fill half way with concrete, then put varying lenghts of 3/4 inch pvc in sticking out the cut off top. I've used 5 gallon buckets also in the same manner. They don['t tip over and there isn't anything to hang up on.

Deer herd up like that when it's really really cold around here. It's not uncommon to see herds of 200+ deer. The biggest I've ever seen was around 600.

There was a field near my place where there would be a herd of deer maybe 100 strong or so. They'd all run across the field at the same time...it was really cool to watch. But with all the new construction, they have all gone...I rarely see any deer in that field at all.

They also herd up like that when someone dumps a line of feed down a cleared path everyday. He took some heat for exposing those deer to a potential disease risk.

I was bow hunting one day on the ground. I was on the south end of a mile long pasture. My brother in law and his dad walked in from the north. There was a group of about 100 deer, lots of bucks in the herd. Unfortunately all the bucks were shitty as hell. They walked by at 30 yards not caring that i was standing next to a tree on about an 6-8 foot drift. I was probably 15 or so at the time, and i watched about 90 of these whitetails walk by without a single shooter. One of the last deer was a shitty forkhorn muley buck. The only muley in the group and 1 of about 5 i knew to exist in my entire county at the time. I took a shot with him walking.. just missed underneath him. He just kept walking, didn't even look at me. Man i had a piece of shit bow at the time.

That's a pretty nice buck with a shooter for next year in the shadows. nice.

Checked my cams on the new farm last night and have 2 shooters on cam the first 4 nights out. I like what I see so far.

Normally it's a no, but I'm in need of a pile of money and/or a porn star who cooks and cleans.... If you have either, forward pics and we'll start the negotiation.

EHD is killing a ton of deer in Mo right now. Some big bucks dead many in north Mo

Drought and few water holes plus the mite spreads EHD

You pond guys need to check pondboss.com. Great site

Southern Iowa is getting hit pretty good too.

Our ponds are horrible right now. We're putting air to two of them we raise catfish in soon and if I can get an old well up and going this week I'm going to put some fresh water in them. Drove past two natural springs today and they look REAL bad. No dead deer yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if it broke out soon as I know a couple guys closer to the Iowa/MO state line that have both found a few dead deer.
