chiefzilla1501 12-29-2013 04:52 PM

This is the most ridiculous thing I"ve ever seen. The team is losing because of their QB, not because of their coach. This team could have competed for .500 with Hoying starting.

That's hard to believe, coming from a team with an 80 year old running back, receivers who have consistently led the league in drops, and a starting QB that was cut by the Raiders (Campbell) / another QB who couldn't even compete for the Raiders 3rd string (Weeden).

The lack of trust probably has a lot more to do with Banner putting everyone on the trade block than Chud.

a pp roach 12-29-2013 04:57 PM

oh this makes perfect sense. the browns have been a great, and i mean GREAT team in the past few years. the reason they were bad this fluke season was the head coach. they'll be back to their dynasty-like ways next year i'm sure of it.

They played tough football considering they have an 80year old McGahee at RB and a combo of Brandon Weeden/Jason Campbell at QB. The last few games, they mailed it in and players are upset. That happens with most losing teams.

THis is a silly move. You get that team at least a semi-average QB and a semi-average RB, and that's a good football team. Hard to imagine many coaches that would do well in those circumstances.

I don't know if he's been inept enough to get fired, but I have no problem canning a coach after a season. Hell, the Lions should have fired Schwartz the moment he suggested Gunther as his DC.

tk13 12-29-2013 08:17 PM

Mortensen made suggestions on ESPN this morning that if you're looking for a surprise firing, this would be it. Kind of surprised everyone else but he hinted that there were a lot of issues behind the scenes.

Hard to believe with a Belichick disciple running your team.

There's a reason that the Browns are the Browns.

Easy 6 12-29-2013 09:10 PM

McDaniels drafted Tebow to be "the man"... that should automatically disqualify him from any HC vacancy.

If they have any sense in their heads, they'll stay in-house with Horton.

The Norf Browns!! Would that EVER be a match made in hell.

Throughout the season, I sensed that the Browns were an underachieving team that would ripen to meet expectations in the near future, and Rod wasn't holding them back in a vast horizon.

Stupid decision, an altogether Cleveland trademark.
