AFC West - Week 12
Let's take a look at what's coming up next week (all times EST).
Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs (1:00PM) We've already got a thread devoted to this game. Personally, if our defense continues to play like it has been the past few weeks and the Chiefs don't make stupid turnovers on offense, I see a close win for the Chiefs. San Diego Chargers at Jacksonville Jaguars (1:00PM) San Diego has a horrible record on the East Coast and I don't see it getting any better this week. Jacksonville has slowly been turning their season around and while they're not world-beaters, they'll be Charger-beaters. Oakland Raiders at Tennessee Titans (1:00PM) As much as I really want to vote against the Raiders here based on my long-formed antipathy toward the Silver and Black, Tennessee just has not been impressive this year. They've won a few games, but also lost several they shouldn't have. The only advantage the Titans have is it's a home game, but that's probably not enough. I see the Raiders in a close game. New England Patriots at Denver Broncos (8:30PM) Denver is always tough at home and they've got a good, opportunistic defense. However, Brock vs. Brady doesn't bring up visions of the old Manning/Brady match-ups. Unless the Patriots take even more injuries in tonight's game, I see this one going the Patriots way. Projected at the end of Week 12: Broncos 8 - 3 Chiefs 6 - 5 Raiders 5 - 6 Chargers 2 - 9 As always, YMMV. |

Damn good idea for a thread... hell, looks like a solid theme for a series.

The Jags should throttle the Chargers, keeping them in the discussion for the final 2 spots. Oakland... geez, things have fallen a bit and if they lose in TN - maybe they're not on a turnaround, which is unfortunate. Chiefs hosting the Bills - lots of drama, but need to see how they play NE tonight. I'd like to see the Bills win and beat up the Patriots a bit, maybe just give Gronk a reason to take the next 10 days off. :D |

Raiders - I'd like to think they can win with that offense @ TN, but they are young and have proven to be inconsistent. If this isn't the same ol' Raiders, they'll find a way to win by 10. 17-14, Raiders Bills @ Chiefs Big stakes game here as both teams are 5-5. Chiefs are on a roll and the Bills are on the ropes if Taylor misses the game. Defensively, it's #7 overall KC vs #17 overall BUF. Rushing defense (yards allowed) isn't that much different, KC is about 4 yards per game better. Passing yards allowed, KC is about 20 yards better. Chiefs give up 19 per game while the Bills give up 22. Bills are 3-2 on the road and KC is 2-2 at home. Offensively - rushing yards per game, Bills are 5th (137 ypg) and KC is 9th (120 ypg). Passing offense, neither is a threat with KC at 22 and BUF at 29. Geography plays a big role here and the crowd should be euphoric. KC should win this one if they stay true to the last few weeks and don't let Alex get into a spot where he has to win it. I would think this one ends up KC 20 - Bills 17. Patriots @ Broncos... Who the hell knows? I'm not expecting a win and I'll let you guys carve this one up, but my guess would be Patriots 23 - Broncos 17. Call it reverse mojo, if you like. I don't see it being a blowout or high scoring, I think Denver can keep it close, but in the end, Tom and Gronk will find a way. |
Broncos beat Patriots
Raiders beat Titans Bills beat Chiefs Jaguars beat Chargers |
