NFL Free Agency rumors: Eagles expected to re-sign Jeremy Maclin to one-year deal

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin is set to become a free agent in the offseason, but he is coming off of a torn ACL and his value may take a hit. It was initially believed that the Eagles would allow him to walk in free agency and Maclin was linked to former head coach Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs, but now there may be a change in plans.
According to CSN Philly, the Eagles are expected to re-sign Maclin to a one-year deal.
Unfortunately for fellow wide receiver Riley Cooper, that means he is likely to be on the outs.

With Cooper and Maclin slated to be free agents, it’s unlikely that both will be back. The hunch here is that Cooper walks in free agency and Maclin comes back under a one-year deal. Avant has one year left on his deal but underwent a major drop off in catches and receiving yards and isn’t much of a downfield threat.

Maclin is a better fit in Chip Kelly’s offense so the news isn’t a big surprise, but the Eagles will still run a risk at losing both Cooper and Maclin in the offseason.
