There is absolutely no connection whatsoever to socialism. The NFL is a franchise model whereby the locations compete in a designated trade zone. Just like buying a McDonalds franchise would be. You get the rights to the McDonalds but you still have to compete vs Wendy's, just like the Chiefs still have to compete with other regional forms of entertainment.
Relegation is stupid because owners purchase teams based on expected economic profit and nobody would purchase a team for a high price if the NFL could relegate them and murder their income stream. The EPL isn't capitalist, they're a flawed franchisor model.
