The team was good enough in 2013. That's like saying the 2013 Spurs weren't good enough to win it this year because they lost in 2013. (Yes I realize Miami got destroyed by SAS this year).
I don't think they're done with just McRoberts and Granger, however. I think McRob is an upgrade over Battier who just wasn't good this past season. McRoberts is much, much younger, is bigger, and is a better rebounder & passer than Battier. I don't expect anything out of Granger.
Miami still has S&T possibilities with Chalmers & Cole, still have their TE, and could still possibly sign others depending upon the contracts of Bron/Bosh/Wade.
The meeting today could be a matter of presenting the plan, agreeing to play Bron for less mpg and Spo presenting that plan, and Arison agreeing to spend $$ to improve the team.
