Need Printer help/recommendations.
I currently have an HP Officejet J4680. It won't print cardstock right. I made some business cards in publisher and whenever I print them on the cardstock, it FUBARs the allignment. I've saved it in all manner of different formats (JPEG, PDF, Word) and still nothing. I can print it on plain paper and it works like a champ, so I've concluded it must be a hardware problem printing cardstock.

Anyway, it's time for the machine to go. I am needing advice on a new machine. I'd like it to include scanner/copy, but don't care about fax. I don't print an awful lot, when I do it usually isn't giant batches, but I would like it to be fairly efficient with ink. I do scan quite a bit, so I'd like a little speed there along with a document feeder. And goddamn it, I need one that will print cardstock.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'd suggest an HP Laserjet multifunction. The ink heads won't dry out with infrequent printing like an inkjet. B/W or color available.

I like the Brother laserjet printers myself. Never had a problem with them.

I have a Deskjet D1600.I know it's just a cheap little ink jet but they way the paper feeds makes it print card stock the same as it does plain paper.
If your only issue is printing card stock. It's not a bad little printer.

Just got an Epson WF-3520. I can't speak for the quality of its card stock printing, but it's a great machine. Scans directly to pdf and emails it to you is a nice touch.

Sometimes cheaper printers are better for card stock because they don't have the precise tolerances of a higher end printer.
