I don’t know why I bother with ESPN, but there’s an online column giving out grades for April to every team, and they’ve given the Royals a “C”.

Is that really fair? They’ve had a tough schedule. They’ve managed to keep themselves above .500 in spite of a mostly dreadful offense. And if the season ended today, they’d be tied for the last wild card spot.

If it was up to me, I’d give em a B-.

Competing at all in this ****ed up league with the odds stacked against a small market team gets a B at minimum from me. This pitching is great, and they are slowly moving the line-up towards being acceptable.

Giving grades is a joke, though, when it's not a level playing field to begin with.

The only reason the Royals lost to the Yankees in the playoffs last year was due to rigged umpiring. They have ZERO interest in a team like the Royals actually going anywhere and they will do whatever needs to be done to ensure it doesn't happen. As they did.

It's not a real sport. Who was the guy who went from the Royals to the Yankees and his numbers went way up and he was asked what adjustments he made to improve so much? And he said "no adjustments. I just get yankees calls now whereas before I would get Royals calls". So it's highly rigged.

Fun to gamble on in May though.
