Dang, you'd think with an IQ as high as his was, he'd have figured out a way to cheat death. Guess he wasn't as smart as he thought.

You guys are brutal.

I only visit 1x/day and followed his opinions. He made this board more interesting. Didn't agree on much of his rhetoric, but entertaining.

Dudes dead. Let it rest.

Dom, thanks for the update.

Though he might have been a nice guy in real life, the persona he decided to portray himself as here was obnoxiously combative, dishonest, and condescending. This was the one most of us knew, the internet personality defined by baiting and pretension.

Some posters may have appreciated his posts or even found them informative, but to most of us, his posts seemed more like acting rather than actual conversation. That the mark he left on this board, and it is right to acknowledge that, just as it is right to mourn a loss of human life and send condolences to those who knew him beyond the monitor.

This is well said and fair. At the end of the day, this is discussion about football. I absolutely might not care for what you think about your favorite team and my favorite team. But taking satisfaction in someone's death because of their football discussions seems a bit over the top. In fairness, the vast majority of you guys aren't like that.

I will say that over the years, when we've been similarly notified of the illness or death of someone here that we would know, I have appreciated the heads up. The most memorable one that comes to mind was crazyhorse, way back in the day. He was outspoken enough to have been banned several times on the Mane. When he got sick, I appreciated knowing. (It's been awhile, but I'm pretty sure several of us contributed to a fundraiser that had been started for him - can't remember if it had been here, or over on the Mane).

Dude, he’s not a member of our community. He simply came here to troll. It’s like if one of us posted over at the Mane. No one would care.

It's kinda sad to see people taking shots at a recently deceased person. I, for one, will actually miss Buff. More so for his posts at the Broncos board than here, which weren't his best work.

As far as I know, he wasn't terribly old. Wonder what happened...

It's completely understandable, and I genuinely appreciate the thoughtful way that you've handled it. You are 100% in the right, after things have blown over, this is all just football chat. We will likely always differ in opinion as to teams, opinions, and definitely personalities, but that will never (at least for me) get to the stage of rejoicing at somebody else's loss. IMO, that is never an acceptable reaction, and I'm reassured to notice that the vast majority of the people (at least the IRL versions of them, and not the schticks they've cultured online) here would agree on this point.

And just to be clear, this isn't aimed at you at all. You've always been cool by me, and I really do appreciate the time you took to post the update. It means something, especially in a community where we've all interacted with each other for years.

That sucks. Wasn't a huge fan of his posting or the rumor that he destroyed the Mane, but I still pray for his family.

Damn...poor guy never got to see the Donks win a SB without cheating.

I hate the Donks but dont wish death on their fans...explosive diarrhea is another story. Maybe this event will help them realize that life is short...too short to waste time rooting for the most cheating organization NFL history.

RIP BroncoBuff.
