Grbac came back to play in the last regular season game against the Saints in the 1997 season.

Didn't know that. The defense was basically carrying them every game. Gannon wasn't doing anything special but he could at least scramble here and there and make a play. To hold that Denver offense to 14 points and still lose was devastating for the defense.

I did a deep dive many years ago. Looked at stats, records, and everything. I basically reached the conclusion that the QB didn't make all that much difference. They were pretty even. That team was driven by the defense.

That defense was the best in the league that year. Grbac really was a decent QB. He just didn't seem to have that clutch gene. Gannon and that offense were playing like a well oiled machine by the end of that season. Marty made a bad choice.

Stop Nico Collins. Stop the Mixon and the run game. Don't let Dalton Schultz have a career day (only say that because TE seems to be a weak spot for the Defense this year). Execute on offense, quick pass plays, limit the turnovers, and it should be a good win...might not be a super sexy blowout, but I can see a game where we win 28-17 and it is never really close and Chiefs basically lead wire to wire. I can also see the Offense blowing up and scoring some points--DHOP won't be on a limited snap count, Hollywood has had a few weeks to get into things, and Travis is well rested. LETS ****ING GO!!!!!!!!!

Ask your son if he loves the Kansas City Chiefs. When he replies yes just say "...so do I". Job done.

Oh, it's a shame that he sprained his ankle Saturday morning and can't make it!

Several years ago I got tickets to a Penn State wrestling match (a big deal in Central PA, and a really fun time). I took my nephew who was 16 at the time a a pretty good high school wrestler. I had gotten these tickets from a coworker around Christmas time. Then the playoff schedule came out. It was the day of the Chiefs-Texans 24-0 game.

I had to take him, so I decided to turn my phone off and enjoy the match and then avoid the radio on the way home and then watch it back later. But early in the match I hear some old dudes behind me saying "The Texans are pounding the Chiefs already." My heart sank. I kept my phone off and enjoyed my time there with my nephew, but when we got back to the truck, I had to know. We found a youtube channel of some Giants fans who were live commenting on the game. We started listening right when Mecole had his big return. We sat in that ****ing parking garage for 45 minutes waiting to get out helplessly listening to these guidos laugh at the Texans and drool over the Chiefs.

I love this. Sometimes those are the absolute best ways to experience a game. Randomly and totally off script from the norm.

Thursday's practice brought some bad news for the Texans, who saw RB Joe Mixon sit out of the final practice of the week due to injury. Mixon first appeared on the injury report with an ankle injury on Wednesday after practicing in full on Tuesday to start the week. Texans media members strongly believe Mixon will still play on Saturday, but this at least raises some questions about his potential availability. Even if he does play in the game, there's certainly reason to believe he won't be 100% healthy.
