Calling all sick ****s: Let's talk 2026

What positions are you guys keeping an eye on this season?

I'm thinking RB, DT, LB, TE, and S could all be needs. Perhaps CB as well with Watson set to be a FA.

Just peaking at the RBs looks like another strong class, albeit not quite as good obviously. Love and Ferguson headline, but Jonah Coleman from Washington is an exciting RB prospect to keep an eye on to. That guy is a dog.

The QB class appears to be much better, even if Archie Manning returns (I 100% believe he will). Sellers from South Carolina looks like QB1, but the LSU and Penn St. QBs look like potential #1 overall type of QBs too.

Will add more thoughts later...

Pass Rusher. Doesn't matter if it's EDGE or DT.

This is probably Chris Jones last elite year. So we need a new franchise pass rusher. Karlaftis is not a blue chipper.

Never a bad idea, but we just took TWO. I don't know that it's of any more concern than any other position group necessarily.

I'm keeping the good pass rusher over a CB every single day of the week. There are 7 or so "blue chip" edges in this league. Then there's that next tier of about 15-17 guys and Karlaftis is in that tier right now. He's 24 ****ing years old. There are draft picks coming out older. If Karlaftis takes that next step, and he sure looked capable in the playoffs, he'll be a blue-chipper.

McDuffie is a great CB but he's nowhere near as good on the outside as he is in the slot and that definitely diminishes his value for me. If I have to choose, it's Karlaftis. No doubts.

I agree. But we need THE GUY. And you're unlikely to find the guy in rounds 2 or 3. Chris Jones being a superstar pass rusher from the 2nd round is quite rare.

I trust Veach a ton more to replace McDuffie than Karlaftis.

Edge rushers get drafted so damn early and we don’t seem to have as much success finding the diamonds beyond guys like Danna who are just fine.

You're not going to get THE GUY picking 30 plus, so it's a moot point anyway.

I agree. That's why you find a way to pick inside the top 25. After pick 25 you're looking at 2nd round EDGE talent.

It's not ****ing Madden, man.

We go to the Superbowl every ****ing year. I think they're doing fine.

We're not trading our good young players for draft picks. That's stupid.

… Except the two best Chiefs pass rushers of the past 20 years were drafted in … rounds 2 and 3?

TJ Watt was pick 30. Danielle Hunter and Trey Hendrickson were round 3 picks. Crosby was what, round 4?

It happens, but we can agree that's atypical.

But I would push back a bit on the 'THE GUY' argument.

You can do just fine with a bunch of good but not elite players on the line.
