The Kansas City Chiefs (or at least their Twitter account) are moving in on J.Maclin

It's Chiefs news so sue me...

Quote:
The Eagles have 20 days to strike a deal with wide receiver Jeremy Maclin before other teams can officially contact the soon-to-be free agent about leaving Philadelphia.

One team, however, is already getting a jump on warming up to Maclin — at least on social media.

Maclin, who was born in Missouri, was recently inducted into the University of Missouri Athletics Hall of Fame, and was in town for a banquet.

Along with Maclin, current Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Chase Daniels was also inducted — which led to this tweet by the Chiefs.

TWEET: Congrats to @jmac_18 and @ChaseDaniel on their induction to the #Mizzou Athletics Hall of Fame.

Tampering? Not exactly (or even close).

But as Maclin inches closer to being a free agent, it is almost a near certainty that the Chiefs will be knocking down his door once they are allowed to.

The Chiefs didn't have a single wide receiver catch a touchdown last season, while Maclin finished last year with 10 himself to go along with 85 catches for 1,318 yards. The idea of jumping ship from Philadelphia to Kansas City was mentioned to Maclin at the event, and while he stressed he wanted to be in Philadelphia, he did add this comment.

TWEET: Jeremy Maclin said he hopes to work out a contract with Philly, but said obviously working with people you know would be a good 2nd option.

One issue in heading back home for Maclin? The Chiefs, according to OverTheCap.com, are $1.5 million over the salary cap. The Eagles, on the other hand, have $18.4 million to spend.
