The fact that Reid went to Oakland to visit this kid tells me the Chiefs went above and beyond.
I can't recall ever hearing about a 1 on 1 meeting like this between HC and prospective pick. If Reid came away feeling that he and his staff can work with this kid, then I'm excited about this pick. This is top 10 talent at 18.

Listening to Andy Reid talk, there's no doubt in my mind that Reid knows Marcus Peters is going to be a good football player who's not going to go psycho like he did at Washington.
I like that he said, "He's got a lot of emotion and he shows it, and it will lead to some penalties, but you gladly trade those penalties for what he gives you on the field" (paraphrasing) We've got a huge dick-swinger at long last. None of these quiet guys who just do their jobs or the humble blue collar piano-playing dweebs. We've got some ****ing fire to play with now. Great things to come for this secondary and Chiefs defense ![]() |

Pioli and Dorsey used to always talk to the media after the first round pick. I wonder if Dorsey was busy making phone calls or something?

Weak CB class and you got the 2nd best with the 18th pick. Congrats.
His charm should help the locker room too. ![]() |

When I read in Peter King's column this morning that Reid went out to visit him this week in Oakland, I assumed he was the pick if he were available. I'm happy, love going with a guy with shut down corner upside.

So,
Did we draft the next Dale Carter or Adam Pacman Jones?
