It's pretty amazing how the man just goes about his business and keeps putting up the yards.

1. P. Holmes KC 476
2. T. Barber NYG 455
3. C. Martin NYJ 425
4. L. Tomlinson SD 415
5. E. James IND 411

Oh yeah... He leads the league in rushing TDs, too.

This is all good. But Priest needs to be a pass-catcher out of the backfiel too. His alleged desire for individual rushing glory is so un-Priest-like. It takes away a very important dimension that this 'O' has always thrived on.

On track for 1900+ yards, a couple of huge runs and he might get his record!

Hey frankie,ya ever think why Priest isnt catching the ball outta the backfield is maybe the same reason the opposition has policed KO & PR from Dante this year? They are waiting for it?:hmmm:
Somethings gotta give.

There is no “but.”

Holmes is doing a great job carrying the ball.

That is least surprising of all.

Any takers on wether or not he breaks his own record this year?

Priest is going up against J-ville after the bye. I am not sure what they gave up to James last week, but if they held him under 100 yards, then they have a streak of 19 straight games not surrending a 100 yard rusher.

Priest has his work cut out for him in two weeks.

I guess probably 65 yards and maybe a TD.

But on the other hand, Priest will be coming off a bye and should be at 100%. If Saunders adheres to the game plan like he did most of last night, Priest will have another 100 yard game.

I mean think about it, who expected the ratbird D would surrender 100+ rushing yards?

I hope you're correct. But the Jags have been an outstanding run D for 19 straight games. I will be very suprised if Priest eclipses the century mark against them. I hope you're right, but it will be a very difficult challenge.

Luckily, the Jags offense sucks balls. That will help the running game be able to pound on them for a lot of carries.

I fully realize that Priest is not going to have a 100 yard game every outing, but that does not mean he is not capable of it against any team.

It will greatly depend on wether or not AS uses him correctly....

Geesh, you sound a lot like Jaz, even on the football side of things.

Don't even try to down Priest, PERIOD. He does what is asked of him for the team. He came back from Hip surgury, his leg got bent back, and he is STILL out there giveing 110 %. I just don't see how anyone could attribute his lack of pass catching to vanity.

Neg rep to you. you earned it.

I was watching Total Access yesterday before the game and Solomom Wilcots and T. Davis were asked which was the best RB in the league Lewis or Holmes? Wilcots said Holmes but TD said Lewis and then tried to argue his point with Wilcots. After the game TD had such a sheepish look on his face. He was at a total loss for words and what made it better was thinking about the debate bewteen Wilcots and TD and Wilcots said Holmes is a do it all back and that's the difference. Of course as the game wore on we kept seeing shots of J. Lewis on the sidelines while the Ravens failed to pick up yet another 1st down :thumb: Thinking about it right now I can't help but smile ear to ear. :D see!

Before you neg-rep me o mighty punisher, read my take on other threads about the same point. I have always said that I love Priest and have utmost respect for his hustle, attitude and contribution. I just think Priest as a receiver out of the backfield is a very important dimension of this 'O' and other teams should have to worry about it.

The only back on that list that is a threat to outpacing Priest is LT. The rest of them don't have the staying power and to be quite honest I'm unsure how well Priest will hold up at this pace.

By my count (looking at the boxscores real quick, I think I got it right), the Ravens had not allowed a 100 yard rusher in their last 9 games.... and the first time they've allowed a 100 yard rusher in their last 8 home games. The last time the Ravens let somebody run for as many yards as Priest did last night (125) was December 8, 2002... when Deuce McAllister went for 127. That was 24 games ago, including postseason.

ROFL. There seems to be some form of conspiracy going arround, that because Priest has a goal of high rushing yards that somehow he has asked to be taken out of the passing attack. Nothing could be farther from the Truth. Al Saunders calls the plays, Priest executes. They do respect him wide, that is why he was gashing them between the tackles yesterday. In football, you do what they don't expect, not what they are keying for.

It's really amazing when you consider that Welborn alone has cost Priest about 100 yards from holding on long runs.

If Priest averages just 2 TD's a game, he will obliterate his record of 27 TD's, with 31 td's.

Isn't that the fuggin truth. It was so nice to see Priest break a couple nice runs yesterday and not have them called back for holding or some shite. I was getting to the point I wouldn't cheer after a long run until I was sure it wasn't coming back.

i have Priest as my fantasy RB, sure wish he had ran for one more of those TD's yesterday. I am still in a dog fight this week. I have Plummer still to play as well as Chad Johnson. He has Elam and I am 20 points back.

I don't see needing to worry about who's going to take his place any time soon. He'll stay at least 2 more years. My god, he looks better now than ever before, course he's not having to be our leading receiver too.
