Theres never been one Mobile QB that ever won a Super Bowl..unless you count a young Joe Montana who was pretty mobile in his younger days....Elway and Young were both waaay past their running days when they won so that doesnt count....Dont get me wrong, i dont want a statue back there, but being a running QB, ala Vick is waay overrrated...

Leak's not THAT mobile of a quarterback. I think he's a bit overrated. He's got 0 zip on his passes and he can't throw the deep ball. He's too small in stature, IMO.

I'm being a bit partial here, but I like Dan Orlovsky from UConn. He doesn't get much media attention, but neither have MAC QBs coming out of school. He stands at about 6'5", has a cannon for an arm, can throw the deep ball, is one of the more accurate QBs in the country, and can scramble when he has to, very much like Ben Roethlisberger. He looks much more like an NFL QB than a college QB when he's out on the field.

Yes they could move in the pocket and knew how to avoid a sack......but a young Elway, a Young Montana, a Young Cunningham never won a SB....and neither will Vick until he learns how to be more accurate from the pocket.

Oh yea..you can add McNabb into that list as well.....so far hes been highly in-accurate...although so far this season hes made some great strides.....funny what a great WR will do for a QB?

He can't throw the ball and catch it, too.

LJ could, if DV would just pull his head out of his ass and let him showcase it.

I think just the fact that Chris Leak is this far being so young as a passer is impressive.

And IMO he's more of a passer than a runner.

But here are some guys I like.

- Matt Jones (Arkansas) - 6'6 225. Is mobile and just seems crafty playing QB. I've seen enough of him to feel he's just a winner. He's the guy I've seen the most of.

- Andrew Walter (Arizona St.) - 6'5 235. Just a rocket arm.

- Aaron Rogers.

I saw the Florida game.

But when you can point out to me a QB that never makes a mistake, then I'll reconsider how I feel about Jones.

I don't think he exactly has a lot of help on that team either.

2 blown ACL's, doesn't make the best decisions under pressure, not as physically gifted as many other QB's in the draft.

Saul doesn't like him because of his knees. However, he is running this year better than ever. He's also passing the ball really well and has some long throws.

Jason is showing me a little more this year on his passing ability though for the most part I kinda see him as an option QB. I would rather have a pocket passer than a scrambler.

Leak is not a mobile quarterback. He can move around back there, but he is far from mobile. I'm not sure I have even seen a planned QB run all year. Occasionally, he has to run, but his speed is FAR from blinding. I thought his hype was unwarranted last year. I am seeing his play improve slowly. Still not on his bandwagon.

I HAVE been on the Greene bandwagon since he started, however. Of course, that hurts, since he's a bulldog. He looks very good to me. If he had a decent QB coach, he might be much better.

What, no mention of Chris Rix? ROFL Where's the FSU faithful?

Getting Aaron Rodgers that far into the draft would be a steal. IMO he's the best QB in the draft.

This mock has no credibility though. They've got Miami taking Braylon Edwards with the 3rd pick, when they already have Cchambers, Booker, and Boston. :-\

Here's a recently updated draft that includes correct current draft positioning. IMO this guy's the best I've seen when it comes to predicting the draft. It is, however, early on in both the college and NFL season's so a lot of change will take place. He's got us taking DJ at the 9 spot. Wouldn't mind that.

Ummmm....Montana won a SB in his first year as starter in 1981. Montana at the time was 25 years old.

Really, those two Purdue options are good ones. Depending on how long Trent plays, Brees may be coming into his own as a QB. He's a QB not unlike Trent in that if you give him an good pass-blocking O-line and running game, he'll succeed. He's tough and a guy the team can rally around.

Kyle Orten, on the other hand will be drafted in the top five this season. He is a stud for those of you who haven't seen any Purdue games this season. Good size, accurate and makes good decisions (17 TDs NO INTs!!!) on the year.

I agree completely on Orton. That offense requires him to go through a number of reads almost every play because they often have 4-5 receivers in their sets and he almost never makes a mistake. He's able to spread the ball around very impressively, which fits with the Chiefs system. Also, I like the fact that he's been a starter for a relatively big-time program for multiple years, and history will tell you that college QBs that were starters for more than 2 years fare better in the NFL.

I remember Elway diving head first into the fuggin Endzone.

As much as I hate Denver, no one wanted it more than he did. In that game at least.
