Very sweet little hack for your windows box...

http://www.viksoe.dk/code/gmail.htm

After install just go into your windows explorer and in the my computer area there will be a new device labled "Gmail Drive", it will ask you for you login. Then you can just drag, drop, delete files just like normal. Very, very spoon.

Can you link others to files? Can you upload files of more than 5 MB (that's the attachment limit I believe)?

oh wow an extra GB harddrive.......what exactly is the point?

I just downloaded, will try it out. I doubt you can link anyone else to it, unless you want to give them your password.

If you have a computer at work, and another at home, it is a great way to have easy access from both.

10mb is the largest file it supports right now.

I need the space for graphics files, I'm tired of trying to keep them synced up.

Well, that and firewalls. I'm sure there are all sorts of ways to do something similar.

OK...lame. Only 10 MB per file?

I have almost 24 gigs free....one more isn't going to make much difference.

I don't need to. I'll never use this feature. It's a neat little hack, but ultimately useless for someone like me.

And yes, that IS Mr. Meatpeeker to you.

Hey, maybe a mod could change my user name to Mr. Meatpeeker?

useless to someone like you maybe...

but it might be useful to someone of the non "peeker" variety

For me I will probably use it for pictures, just toss them out there and I will be able to get to them from anywhere. I can go to the folks house and let them copy off what ever images they want of the grandson that I have taken on the 5 megapixel camera. I can think of all kinds of uses for something like this, just because you have no need for it really doesn't make it lame.

there are a number of uses for it ... it's not lame ... thanks for the link

Mr. Meat is just too busy peeking to think of the ways it could be useful

:)

Wow, with 5 whole free downloads a day and 240 whole photos?

With this I can hold 350+ images of ~2600x1950, and download all I want to...

bottomline...

Morphius was nice enough to take the time to post a tech link for the board.

use the program if you want ... don't use the program is you dont want

but don't call it lame just because your too lazy/stupid to figure out a use for it.
