I leave tomorrow for my first ever trip there.

Myself and two other friends are meeting 25 other NFL fans there from another internet football community we belong to.

So far I've got two things that are must do.

The Queen musical We Will Rock You (http://www.playcaesars.com/paris/lasvegas/splash/wwry/)

Chiefs-Jags game at The Hurricane a bar that calls itself the proud home of the Kansas City Chiefs football team. (http://www.hurricanelv.com/checkusout.html)--Thanks again Delt for that tip.

Any tips, sights whatever you'd like to add would be appreciated.

Vegas sucks. You should give your ticket to some random internet BB member.

Every time I go to Vegas, I have an overwhelming desire to bathe myself in disinfectant.

I'm not sure why, however.

The Bellagio Buffet is a must. Everything from King Crab legs to roast elk.

And I second the motion on the Big Shot.

If you like buffets, try the World Carnival Buffet at the Rio.
While at the Rio, get a few drinks in the Voodoo lounge. You can drink outside about 30 or 40 floors up.
If you want to crap your pants, ride one of the rides atop the Stratosphere.
Four of my friends just returned from Vegas and they were all winners playing at the 4 Queens.
If you like Blackjack, I think Circus Circus is the best place to play.
Go Casino touring, be sure to hit the Bellagio (water show) and the Venetian.
Set win/loss limits and stick to them.
Shows are expensive, but everyone always loves the Cirque De Solei (sp?) shows.
Good luck and have fun!

Spend LOTS of money so they dont have to raise my taxes! :)

My friends that just returned said the new X Scream gives new meaning to the term "weak in the knees". They all said they would never ride it again.

The Stratosphere buffet is awesome too. If you feel the need to gamble, I would would wait to gamble your money on the last day your there. In the meanwhile, watching can be almost just as fun and most of the time is just as profitable.

Nzoner - I've been to Vegas around 12 times so I can give you tips on just about anything so just let fly with any questions you have. Here are some off the top of my head:

Buffets: Bellagio is good but if you are into just normal meat and potatoes food, you might not like it. Paris has an amazing breakfast buffet. For Lunch and Dinner, Rio Carnival World is great but be prepared to wait a little while. For the price, Gold Coast and Orleans are really good and really cheap ($10 max). Bally's also has a really good dinner buffet and many people rank Aladdin's buffet to be the overall best in Vegas.

Sports books - The best sports books are probably Caesars, Mandalay Bay and Stardust. Stardust will probably be the least crowded but they are usually the first casino to set lines on games.

Other - If you're looking for a good strip club, Olympic Garden is probably the best and I've heard good things about Crazy Horse II and Cheetah's. If you're looking for shows, I would recommend Penn and Teller, they do a great comedy/magic show at the Rio. Also, I've seen Mystere at TI and really liked it.

The buffet at the Luxor was expensive and $#itty. Skip that one. The Casino rocks but the food sucks.

Circus Circus was a nice surprise. Not that expensive and better than expected.

When drinking at the Blackjack table, always order a bottle of water between every beer. Keeps you sober at the table... keeps you going all weekend long, and keeps the hangover at bay.

Bah! Who wants to drink water when there's free booze to be had?

Note to self: remember to lose Jaz in the casino.

All I remember from Vegas was bright lights, lots of hot women and flesh, booze, drugs and a dumb look on my face for about 2 weeks after I got back.

Good point, make sure to ask them to bring it WITH each free beer, not between each free beer.

ALWAYS split Aces, but don't split 8's against a face card. I don't care what the rule says, it's a bad bet.

Double on 10 or 11 against the dealers' 2-6, EVERY TIME.

Beyond that, stay downtown. It's where it's at.

Oh and watch out for them, because only they know who them are.

The book says always split 8's, the odds are more in your favor against any dealer card because 16 is the worst possible hand. I agree on always splitting aces. And when you have 11, you double every time unless the dealer has an ace. And if you have 10, you should double if the dealer has everything 9 and below.

Two 8's against a 10... I basically surrender and either stay (usually) or take one based on what's already been thrown.
I just can never bring myself to take my chances on TWO bad hands instead of one (not that 18's bad, it just doesn't beat 20).

And when you have 11, you double every time unless the dealer has an ace.

I hear ya, but either the dealer's got blackjack, or you split. Either way if you get the opportunity you gotta do it. Do it. DoooIT.

If surrender is available, that's not a bad move, but surrender blackjack games are drying up like crazy.

Not surrender as in the official surrender. More like punting I guess. Or cutting your loses. Or something.

On two 8's I'll usually stay and take my chances that the dealer isn't sitting on 20 with one hand, instead of basically shooting for two hands of 18, which according to the book (which says that basically every card down is a 10) are both going to lose anyway.

Just rememer what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

Always split those 8's Better than 16 any day. There is no worse hand than 16.

SECTION11

Two's not a bust card. They're just gonna flip over the face and draw a 9.

The guys in the security booth get a perverse thrill off watching the look on your face when that happens.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Look up at the camera and point at your watch and nod knowingly. It'll be confusing enough for them for you to feel at least little better about yourself.

If you want a table to yourself... start doubling on 12.

You could also:

Split 10s
Stand on soft 17
Hit hard 17
Hit 12-16 when the dealer is showing a 6

In my short gambling life, I'm seen all sorts of blackjack dumbassery.

If I were you, I'd ask for jr. host "Tommy". F*ck with him a lot... call him a douche that can't hold his liquor.

Sports books - The best sports books are probably Caesars,

Our group arrived at Caesar's at 7:30 a.m. Sunday(each wearing their team's jersey) and was able to secure seats up front.(Decided against going to the Hurricane as it was a bit too far of a drive and by that time the state I was in called for the least motion possible.)

One of the managers of the Caesar's Sportsbook gave a free hat to each of our group for spending the day(and money)with them.We had such a good time we're looking at staying there for next years trip.

Aladdin is the buffet to go to, fantastic. Also that X-Scream, I was too chicken to ride, but my brother said it was boring and lame. He spent the whole ride waving to the folks inside the observation deck!

I didn't have one buffet while there, however,I did find a great buy at the Four Queens on Freemont.A 55 ounce football tumbler filled with your favorite mixed drink for $13 or $7 for beer with $10 and $5 refills.

I opted for four Jack & Cokes on Thursday and got my first visit to Vegas off to a helluva start.

I've never noticed anyone drinking mixed drinks out of those footballs... always beer.

I'll have to snag a football full of 7-n-7 next time. That should put a sufficient hurtin' on me.

The bartender was selling it as a beer special until I told him I couldn't drink Bud etc. he then told me about the mixed drinks and well the rest is a bit cloudy.

I do remember that even with the gensing tablets, red bull etc that after 4 football tumblers of JD & Coke numerous Hineys and 6 hours of rest in 2 days that sometime early Sunday morning my body all but shut down.
