John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports Buffalo Bills WR Bobby Shaw has been ordered by the team to clear out his locker and await either a release or a trade by 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 13.

I'd say he's worth a look for the right price.

I wonder why? I know Lee Evans is coming on strong , but I'm surprised to hear this.

Cutting receivers on an offense that can't score over 17 points a game is never good.

Good point, but I'm not so sure Billichek wasn't on to something when he traded Bledsoe. Bledsoe has been there a while and they haven't gotten much better as an offense. At this point though, I tend to lean towards saying no to Shaw, but a gander never hurt.

Did Shaw smoke us for a long TD when he was with the Jags a couple of years ago?

If you need a dissertation on the shortcomings of Drew Bledsoe, I can give 'em to ya.

This surprises me. I thought Bobby Shaw looked good last year when Josh Reed sucked dick. :hmmm:

It seems to me their O has been on a steady decline since he arrived.

worth a look .... but only for a 1 year deal

just to make sure that our health problems at receiver are over

When Shaw signed with the Jags and Morton signed with us before the 2002 season, I predicted on this BB that Shaw would have more catches in '02 than Morton. And I was right.

But Shaw has now been let go by 4 organizations, so something has to be up with him.

May as well add depth if we can.

I agree with you somewhat...but Bledsoe did get you guys to a Super Bowl once back in 1996...and he did have some big years back in the 1990's...

That was a kickoff or punt return, IIRC.

That was the Patriots, and they got there on the strength of Curtis Martin's legs.

exactly....hahah.....Bledsoe was generally regared as a top 5 Qb back in those days....from about 1994-2000 he was....IM not saying he was Joe Montana or anything...but he was pretty good back in those days. I woud have killed for him back then on the Chiefs. I dont follow the Bills so im not really sure why hes gone in the tubes lately...

Thinks all of a sudden that he has Brett Favre's arm. Since they lost their deep threat last year, increasingly he has decided to try to force more passes where they shouldn't be. You can count on Bledsoe throwing at least two balls a game that should be picked off.

Because his numbers are tons better than Ford's and he has much more experience. Just my take.

Shaw consistently runs the wrong routes. He also knocked the "hail mary" ball down when Moulds could have caught it (against the jets  )

BillsDaily also said that Mularkey "feels Shaw wasn't productive enough in the total package of games, meetings, and practice."

The person who they should release is Josh Reed. What a disappointment he has been; 2nd rounder. Bobby Shaw was just the scapegoat for their horrendorus start. I live near Buffalo, and hearing their fans and radio stations, majority if not all are in agreement with me.

we should find out who the pats are going to sign and draft each year and then take them first.

it surely can't be any worse than i current method

Why? We did a thing on here last year comparing the Chiefs, Pats and Panthers and we came up with the Chiefs had better talent that both of the Super Bowl teams last season.

Yeah, all the more indication of how good Parcells is.

Seriously, though, he was a rookie in '93 and his game improved quite alot in '94 and he hasn't progressed since '95-'96. If anything, he's regressed.

Our trip to the SB was a combination of factors:

1. Bledsoe being in a terrific offense (Curtis Martin, Ben Coates, solid OL, Terry Glenn).

2. A very solid defense.

3. Denver losing to Jax in the playoffs. We would NEVER have beaten Denver that year. They crushed us, at home, earlier that year.

Bledsoe sucked more and more as the 90s went on.

Yes, they should, but Donahoe can't admit to making a 2nd round mistake that he had to draft Lee Evans this past year to correct. Dumping Peerless Price turned out to be a big mistake because Reed couldn't make the jump to #2.

Of course, drafting Evans meant the Bills had to sell their future (next year's #1) for Lohman.

And now they REALLY suck, and could have a top 5 pick, which will be owned by Dallas, in 2005.

I thought Tom Donahoe was a very good football guy from what he did in Pittsburgh, but it's becoming increasingly clear he's nothing special to say the least.

On the offensive side of the ball atleast, the bills made some major mistakes, and the merry-go-round in the O-system didnt help.
Shit coach williams had to fire his friend, a guy he brought in. Then they P/U a guy who blew the bigest lead in playoff history w/ the same D-system on and on and on..........F-them bills.

A few of us were talking about this the other day. I'm still hoping that we can turn things around and play like I know we SHOULD. Against Miami's D (what offense lol), we actually had less than 100 yards in penalties. That's gotta be a record for us. So hopefully, the AFL refs that they hired to be at our practices will make a difference. Baltimore is next (sigh), so I guess I'll find out if I have ANY reason to be optimistic then.

I haven't been online as much the last couple weeks. My mom has been pretty bad off, so it's been more of "posting and running" (billszone and here).
