I don't know how "serious" it is. Looks like a small plane and doesn't appear to have hit any big structures. Fox keeps putting talking heads and commercials on...

October 19, 2004 ATLANTA (WGCL) -- Authorities report a small twin engine plane has crashed into a building near Edgewood and Daniels in southeast Atlanta, near City Hall East.
FAA spokesperson Kathleen Bergen tells CBS 46 News that the aircraft was a twin engine Beech Baron departing from Peachtree Dekalb Airport, headed to Venice, FL. That aircraft can hold a maximum of four people.

The plane is registered to a company in Sarasota, FL.

Bergen also says that with weather and visibility as poor as it is Tuesday, a flight plane is required and that plan indicates how many people are on board.

It's possible the plane struck something after takeoff. There's no word if inclement weather played a factor in the crash.

The building is reportedly abandoned and there is no current reports of injuries from people on the ground.

However, the Atlanta Fire Department is reporting there may be fatalities from the aircraft.

Okay - that's the best possible news at this point. I immediately thought the worst when I read this.

Apparently it was just a small plane and it crashed into a warehouse.

Guess I get a little worked up quickly since 911 when it comes to breaking news and planes in a city. Fox dialed it down quite a bit now, small plane, sounds like an accident.

Sorry, was on here when it broke and it spooked me.

They're saying it's a small 4 person plane and with it hitting an abandoned building it looks like another malfunction or human error issue.

But frankly it pisses me off that things like this immediately make me assume something different.

Damn. I overreacted as well. Stopped my network security lecture, immediately brought up web browsr on the overhead to share with the class. I guess with the election coming up, I'm just waiting for a shoe to drop.

A plane crashed in Jeff City last week and I didn't get too worked up about it. Planes crash, cars have wrecks, it happens. I don't like how the news networks try to make the stories out to be bigger than they really are...
