View Full Version : A REALLY nice police officer

My son was going 60 in a 40 speed limit, the officer who pulled him over said he would have to go to court Nov 15, when Joseph told him he had to report to his station on Nov 8 the officer said because Joe was so polite and because he really appreciates his williness to serve our country he gave Joe a ticket for not giving a signal while changing lanes, a fifty dollar fine he can mail in. We thought that was really nice of him, since joe would have gotten several points on his license being 20 miles over the speed limit.

To me "nice" would have been letting him off the hook. It's funny how most police officers only hand out tickets to certain types of people.

I once got a ticket from an airplane on my way to GW1. The officer even asked me what I did. I told him I was headed home for a week prior to being deployed to Saudi. He didn't care.

he's 19 , he's been trapped at Fort Knox for over 4 mos. He is usually a really safe driver. It was after 12am and him and some friends were on their way home from a movie, there were really no traffic out that late on a wed. night. But yea, he probably will speed again sooner or later.

I totally got caught do a California stop today by an officer on his motorcycle. He just gave me a hard look. I'll take the hard look over a fine anytime. For the first time in a long time I can say I actually think the cops where I am at are really trying to be REAL cops and revenue gathering machines preying upon the very people they are supposed to be serving.

I don't have a problem with a cop giving me a ticket when I'm speeding. It's my own fault for breaking the law. What pisses me off is the attitude they carry. Just write the f*cking ticket and let me go, don't act like I just ran over a family of nuns walking their baby ducks. I just can't figure out why these a-holes seem to take the smallest things so seriously.

That burns me as well. I got pulled over once for avoiding a traffic device and you would have thought I was trying to smuggle WMDs into a school for the physically handicapped.

Once I was pulled over for speeding outside Des Moines by a state trooper. He was about 3/4 the way out of his car when he darted back inside the car because he forgot to put on his goofy state trooper hat. I guess it's a law in Iowa that in order to issue a traffic ticket, you must look like a dork first.

Or the always clever "What's the emergency?" Gee, I'm in labor asshole, just write the ticket.

My favorite was the State Trooper that pulled me over because he didn't see the temp tag in my brand new truck. As he walked up he noticed and proceeded to warn me that I needed to get my plates. "In five more days I can write you a ticket" Then pull me over in five days, dick.

While I was working in KC a couple of years ago, my home in Bartlesville was burglarized. The cop that came said "You must have had drugs in there". I said no, I was out of town and I had my drugs with me. He then said "Well, there must have been something in there they wanted". Yeah, shit-for-brains, almost everything I owned.

ya I was in a friends car one time, in derby actually, the speed limit was 40 at the time, but we were entering a highway, you could see the 55 speed limit sign increase about 150 ft away, so he started accelerating up to 55. and sure enough there was a cop there waiting to get people in the middle of that speed limit increase, he was up to about 50 before he passed the new 55 mph sign. the 2 cops come to the car, one on each side and just screamed at my friend " BOY YOU WAS GOING 50 IN MY 40 MILE PER HOUR ZONE!!!!" my friend just said "excuse me?" and the cop yelled again "I SAID YOU WAS GOING 50 IN MY 40 MILE PER HOUR ZONE!!!" and he started yelling something else at him when my friend just yells back OKAY!!! and handed the license and registration to him.

to me, most cops that sit there waiting for speeders like that is just out to get people. and I don't think thats right. they are just out to get people and charge them $100 for something so pity

This may sound terrible, but sometimes I wish that instead of taking out road construction workers, that a drunk would sideswipe one of those a-hole cops sitting in the dark with their lights off trying to catch those dastardly speeders.

There are enough stupid drivers out there as it is who ignore the speeding laws. If they could drive as fast as they wanted, there would be a lot more people getting killed on the roads.

I can’t believe what I’m hearing. Actually, I really shouldn’t be all that surprised, but this is complete utter BS from you guys. And I know I’ll get flamed for this, but seriously- one of these days- some cop just might save your freakin life. It is not very likely, but you never know…

And yes, I’ve dealt with my fair share of azzwipe cops. I’m a damn hippie after all- they think of us as the lowest scum. But, I’ve also had my fair share of profoundly nice and yes- considerate cops!

It might be because I showed them a little respect when they pulled me over or paid an unwelcome visit to my home. Pay someone a little respect and talk to them like they are human, and they just might pay you a little respect as well. And NO- nobody in my family is or ever has been a policeman or fireman.

But, the fact of the matter is- if you’re speeding- you should EXPECT to get a ticket. If you’re sitting around on your couch pulling from a bong, EXPECT the fact that you might get busted. If you’re jaywalking or beating someone up- you are essentially breaking the law and don’t be surprised if you’re hauled off in handcuffs. Do the crime- pay the fine.

Yea, some of them have bad attitudes- but wouldn’t you? Think about the consequences of their every day job- the fact that every time they pull over a van with a handful of Mexicans they might get themselves riddled with bullets. Every time they pull over a drunken driver, they are exposed to another possible danger. You don’t think this would stress the shit out of you? The fact that society pays them little respect. It’s no wonder these guys have one of the highest rates of alcoholism for a working profession.

I ride around with a Grateful Dead sticker on the rear window of my SUV- and I have no speeding tickets nor do I have any DUI’s- You know why? ‘Cause I’m not breaking the law. I’ve been pulled over a couple of times for being 10 miles over the limit, and both times they gave me nothing but a verbal warning. Now, those are some nice cops. The ones who were pricks to me in the past may be because I probably needed an adjustment on my attitude anyhow.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying cops aren’t azzes- I’m just saying if you break the law and you’re a prick about it- don’t be surprised if the cop is too.

The vast majority of cops are decent. The problem is that one bad encounter with one cop will forever taint most people's opinions of them. Since they are in a position of authority, when one abuses it it makes a big impression.

That door swings both ways (forget it gobret). Many cops could put that suggestion to use.

I don't have a problem with cops. I have a problem with assholes. I realize that when I get caught breraking the law, I will get in trouble. That doesn't give a policeman the right o be a demeaning dick over a speeding infraction. I always treat them with respect, even the assholes. It's gotten me out of plenty of tickets.

And I don't give them a free pass just because their job sucks. A lot of people's jobs suck, and they don't go on a powertrip over it. If it's so terrible, get into a different line of work.

I think the vast majority of cops are hypocritical aholes with an attitude problem and that there is a minority of honorable cops who seek nothing more than justice, rather than degrading people they pull over for speeding.

MOst do not give a rat's ass about tickets or being pricks to everyday good people. All it takes is one or two in this field to make us all look bad. Most do care about taking the shit bags off the streets, it is sometimes the system above the cops that f things up. We are not any different then most of you on here. Outside of work most of the time you would never know what field I work in. Just don't judge all cops based on a few asses that you may have run into.

Sorry I don't buy it. 9 out of 10 times I've been pulled over the cop was a prick. It's bad enough you may have to pay an outrageous fine, what sucks even more is to be belittled when they are writing you the ticket. I guess if I was a blonde with big tits and a nice ass that tastes like French vanilla ice cream (a little quote from True Romance) I would never get a speeding ticket and I might actually get a little respect from a Cop. I would say there is only a handful of actual goodguy cops. I think the whole power trip goes to their heads and they feel above the law and better than most civilians.

Pulled over 10 times, huh?
And the cops are the ones who think they're above the law? OK

Hey Einstein, maybe if you backed off the accelerator once in while, you wouldn't be so persecuted.

Well thank you for the insults. I am glad you feel we are all fu%ks. Your way of thinking is the same kind of mindset that was in place up until the 1960's. I really wish that law enforcement as a whole would all take about a month off. Everyone of us. I would love to see how things would be for that month. Again, thanks for the stereotypes and insults. :shake:
What the hell, take a year off.

Miss out on taking your vitamins today, Big Boy? WTF is your gig?

Is this how you accumulate 21,000 mindless posts by quoting yourself?

If you want to start a discussion with me regarding the principals of our public servants, feel free to chatter away- but giving me delightful monikers such as Cosmic Enforcement Agency and challenging me with these asinine quotes isn't going to get you anywhere.

Somebody is hella sensitive this morning. Don't even recognize when somebody is jerking your chain huh? :hmmm: Take another :bong: before you check into work at the CEA homeboy.

A cop gave you dope? Nah, can't be.

Let's hope he was nice during your eight hours of unconscious memory lapse. Are you sure he was a cop, or did he just have a badge?

In my opinion, the people who hate cops are the ones who get in a lot of trouble or care about someone who does. My brother is always in trouble with the law, hes a moron, so my mom don't like the cops. The way I figure it is, if you break the law its your own fault, the police don't have a gun to your head making you do the crimes, the laws are not written by the police officers who are out there everyday risking their lives, they just enforce them, just don't break the law and you should be fine. I respect the police officers who do their job, I don't respect how some of them do go on a power trip, the ones the worse for that are the ones on those cop shows who finally chase down the criminal, and act like they have a seriel killer on their hands, when actually they were just running cause they had some old warrent on them and didn't want to go to jail, those cops make me sick cause they know they are on camera and just go all out to be a azz. well I have posted under lil stumppys name, this is Badgirl not lil stumppy, but I don't feel like rewriting it.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate what the police stand for and their efforts to make my world safer. I also (as I said in a previous post) always treat them with respect. But that doesn't change the fact that the large majority of them that I've met had a chip on their shoulder. I've also witnessed them abusing their power and don't get me started on all the breaks they give to anyone with a set of tits.

And don't give me the "only criminals dislike cops" bullsh*t either. I haven't had any trouble in the law since I was a dumb kid, and I've only received 3 moving violations in the last 8 years or so.

It's funny. Maybe your whole "the world would fail without us" attitude is part of the problem. Don't act like I owe you something. You get paid by my tax dollars. You're here to serve and protect, not hold it over my head that you can take that protection away.

You don't owe me jack. Even if you don't respect the majority of police officers I would still come to your aid if you needed it. Yes there are some in the field that have a big chip on their shoulders, but not the majority of them. Yes there are some that run on a power trip, but not all. You will find people like this in almost any profession. I only bring up the argument that if police went on a vaction for a while the community would be hurt argument to those that want to disrespect police and the job they do. Most do respect police and I have come to deal with those that do not. It is your choice. I'm not working in the field to change your mind or those that agree with you, I'm just doing what your paying me to do.

It's the BS lies when they really don't have a reason to give a ticket that bug me (following too close on off ramp, failure to signal at a 3 way stop)

They know it's for a revenue and there is a score card on who brings in revenue at the police station.

You'll lawyer up. Loose the points and we will get 2-3 times the ticket amount from you to drop it to a parking ticket.

Go catch a real criminal.

hehe cops rule... I've only ran into a few real dickheads... I've been pulled over 23 times and have been issued 4 tickets. some cops have let me slide on situations that I wouldn't have let me slide on.

The first time I got pulled over I was 14 years old, had stolen(for all intents and purposes) my dad's camaro and was doing 65 in a 30mph construction zone at 4AM on a learners permit driving alone. Cop scared the shit out of me by making me think he was going to fry me... put me in the back of his squad car and everything, then he just let me out and told me to go the hell home.

I'm from a small town and had the same cop, good old officer Maxin pull me over 17 times. He never once gave me a ticket, no matter how stupid I was being. Then one cop asshole gave me a ticket for going 77MPH in a 75MPH zone, I was so pissed. of course I was going about 100mph when I saw him, slammed the brakes and he only actually clocked me at 77... but still.

my best oh shit moment was a Rapid City(which is meade county) sherrif pull up beside me while I was going about 120mph on I-90 (75mph) at about 3AM he flipped on the dome light and motioned with his hand for me to slow down while he mouthed "slow the Fvck down" I slammed the breaks and hit the next exit, I think the only reason he didn't nail me was that I wasn't in meade county where he served.

Also had a total asshole cop get pissed at me because he thought I was trying to evade him by taking an exit right when he flipped on his cherries and going through this wooded area. He didn't believe me that my girlfriend actually lived about 1 mile down that road and I simply didn't see him behind me. he kept threatening me that he was going to go check out my story. Of course, he was half right I did see him and just hoped he would drive on by, but I did need to take that exit anyways.

Even after all that though I still respect cops. People who hate on cops en masse are pretty ignorant IMO

Most of the officers I know don't even want to be bothered with traffic or the BS paperwork that goes with it. Of course there are a few that love it. Also most cops could give a damn about revenue. It has never reflected on my paychecks. But I'm sure you know tons of police officers that told you that is how it works.

Hey Einstein, maybe if you backed off the accelerator once in while, you wouldn't be so persecuted.
Hey genious(cp sp) I have been driving for 15 years I was speaking of being pulled over in general not just speeding tickets. I've probably been pulled over more than that in my driving lifetime. If I was doing 80 in a 55 I couldn't hardly justify making excuses for getting a ticket.

There was a period in my life between about 19 to 20 years old when I was pulled over on a regular basis and I never was doing a damn thing wrong, tell me again why I was pulled over when abiding by the traffic laws? They just wanted to pull over a young kid and harass him which is a regular thing.

I'm only speaking of police in the Arizona\Las Vegas area. The Las Vegas police are the biggest pricks of the bunch. They are known for pulling people over and beating them up if they get flipped any sh*t. I have a couple of friends that this has happened to. I don't know how many times I've been pulled over for driving 5-10 MPH over the speed limit and they act like you just robbed a convienient store.

Look this is no offense to "ALL POLICE OFFICERS" but the police officers that are pricks(you know who you are). What is it with most American police officers when they pull someone over or when they frisk someone they overreact to the situation? I've watched cops in the states and they are almost always yelling and roughing up guys that aren't even resisting them, I just don't get it? Then I've seen Cops in London or in Europe somewhere(can't quite remember the location) where they are calm as can be when arresting someone. One guy was trying to outrun the police and when the finally got him pulled over you didn't hear them screaming at him they calmly arrested him.
Anyway what's with the over reacting?

Look any of you guys that are police officers on this board don't take it to heart when most of us think cops are pricks it doesn't mean we are talking about you unless you're known as an a**hole around your town. And to the quote above. I don't drive around like a damn fool with my foot stomping the accelerator so don't act like you know the things that have happened in my life.

Clearly, there's a difference between a traffic cop and the rest of the squad. Traffic cops aren't even really policemen, they're hall monitors. Hall monitors with "I'm the Principal" attitudes.

Don't take that shit personally, Kraut. Some people just don't understand that we, as law abiding citizens, deal mostly with the hall monitors.
