Without looking it up, I'm assuming you're referencing yards per game, which is not a fantastically meaningful indicator.

I think he is a much better corner. It would be nice to know going into Next year we have two CBs that we can count on. I think Dexter doesn't fit because he will not jam the WR at the line, Bartee does. I like Dexter in the .05, but not starting. Now if Woods can turn it around, I we should be solid in the backfield.

In points I'd assume KC is actually better than 23rd if you factor in special teams touchdowns given up and defensive touchdowns.

If you break the NFL up into quarters (top 1/4th), then you're not even in the bottom quarter, which is definitely an improvement.

And, of course, you WERE 32nd or whatever a few weeks ago, so hopefully it's a sign of increasing improvement.

Yards are nearly worthless. I will never understand why yards are THE standard for assessing offenses and defenses. Until they change the rules so that whoever gets / gives up the most yards wins/loses, it makes no sense at all to me. Never has.

I don't care where the ranking is, I see improvement in areas that we needed improvement in.

As much as I suspected, this defense will continue to get better as the year goes on, which is where we need to be at years end.

Not lets just hope and pray that the inability of the offense to open up on all cylinders hasn't derailed our efforts for a playoff ruin.

I agree 100% but there are those on this board who don't agree. The best example I've seen is Bettis' 3 touchdowns while gaining 5 yards.

I agree, it is the stupidest measurment ever. Here is where the Chiefs D lays in points given up a game, I exclude for all teams all punt/kick off's/fumbles/ints returned for TD's, because you just can't blame the D for that. I do count FG's though as most of the time the D's let them get there and were at least on field for 3 plays.

Warfield is probably going to jail [innocent until proven guilty]. If he gets a Lewis sweetheart deal and serves in the off-season, he will still face suspension.

I am happy for Bartee, and I suspect he will continue to improve under Gunther's tutelage, but I also suspect he is in for a humbling experience against Manning & the Colts WRs.

Still, improvement is good.

Warfield got a DUI, right? Was it a multiple offense, and is jail-time a likely outcome? I can't see how it compares to Lewis federal drug conspiracy charge? But I don't know the details.

I think it was his 3rd DUI, so outcome doesn't look to happy. I believe there is a player in MN who recently had his 3rd as well, and he only got a 2 game suspension so we will have to see.

 Sure, if it makes you happy, that's fine. But if you really think your defense is better in a *meaningful* way than, for example, the Patriots or Jacksonville or the Iggles (all of whom are worse than KC on a yards per game basis), then I'd suggest you have some more :bong:

points per game certainly matters. So does YPP (yards per play), so does 3rd down %, so does Sacks, turnovers, etc.

We're much better at all of that this year.

Who was comparing us to any of the better defenses in the league? All this topic is saying is that STATISTICALLY we have the 9th best defense in the league, which is a huge improvement for us. So stop trying to rain on our parade, and please refrain from having to mention the Patriots in every 0ther post you make.

I read somewhere, I believe it was in the Star, that in Kansas there is mandatory jail time for a third DUI. I don't know it for a fact since I haven't lived in the area for 20 years, but it wouldn't surprise me. They didn't say if there was a minimum time in jail.

He legally aquired the Nebraska license through a loophole in the system. The other offense he was charged with was driving without proof of insurance.

As I recall [I thought it was in one of the articles about Warfield], it is illegal to obtain an out-of-state license when your license has been revoked for DUI. Even if the other license is valid in the other state.

Can someone who knows more about this please clarify.
